“Lindy!” comes a voice, startling us all.

Lindy bolts out of the elevator, running down the hall with her arms out. “Jenna!”

Spencer rolls his eyes as the women chatter and embrace. We slowly walk up to them, trying not to loom too largely in the hallway.

“I haven’t seen you in forever!” Jenna pouts.

“Oh, you just saw me in figure drawing!” Lindy scolds her. “I see you like three times a week.”

“Yeah, but I haven’t seen youhere! What, did you move out?”

“Well, I still have my keys!” Lindy smirks. “But it is nice to be missed. I missed you too.”

Jenna glances at all of us, nodding. When our eyes meet she gives me a slightly wrinkled-nose expression, a common reaction from art students who have had me as a model.

They talk for another minute about something, sounds like glee club, and I try to remember what I thought was so attractive about Jenna. She’s tall and strong. That is definitely a beautiful trait. But now all I can see is Lindy. Jenna might as well be a department store mannequin.

“Well I have to get changed for econ,” Jenna explains with a shrug. “Great to see you! Don’t be a stranger!”

The girls hug again and Jenna trots away. She does have a nice ass, I have to admit.

But not nearly as nice as this one in front of me.

“Dorm room sweet dorm room!” Lindy announces as she lets herself in.

It’s much smaller than the suite, that’s for sure. If Zeke were here, the five of us would have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder to all fit at the same time.

“Wow, it’s a little smaller than I remember,” she murmurs as she grabs a bag from the narrow wardrobe and begins dropping things into it.

“That’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” Spencer nods, eager to continue where he left off.

“Oh, I’m sorry!” she chirps brightly. “You were totally saying something. We got interrupted. What was it, hon?”

Spencer takes a deep breath, trying to organize himself. He has really been working up to this since we were on the sidewalk. Even before that. He’s not used to having to wait to have an audience, I’m sure.

“Well, it’s just that the guys and I were talking and we think it would be nice if you… you know. Didn’t have to pay for a dorm room anymore.”

She just shrugs and smiles vaguely, but doesn’t say anything.

“I’m sure this place is very expensive,” he continues, looking around at the cinderblock walls and aluminum-frame windows.

“It’s almost as much as tuition,” she chuckles. “Can you believe that? And it is not nearly as nice as what you guys have.”

“So you should stay with us,” Trevor blurts out.

Spencer glares at him over his shoulder and Trevor shrugs helplessly.

“Wait, is that what you’re talking about?” Lindy asks, her voice slow and cautious. “Are you asking me to move in with you?”

Spencer raises his eyebrows.

“Wait, are you messing with me right now?” she holds up a hand. “Is that even possible? Don’t you have, like, fraternity rules or something?”

“Oh, hello, have you met us?” Spencer answers arrogantly. “Can I introduce you to your championship starting football team?”

She rolls her eyes dramatically and crosses her arms.

“You never let me forget, Spencer,” she says pointedly. “Yes, you are the football superstars.”
