BRENLEY
“Brenley, wait.”Hayden paused. His keycard hovered over the door handle. His eyes pierced mine and the energy between us arched, charging the air.
For a split second, I worried he’d changed his mind.
“I want you. There’s no doubt about that. But I need you to be sure. Inside that room, all the insecurity we’ve carried since high school isn’t invited. This is about now. And for me, the desperate need to have the Brenley standing before me, to be just as confident in my need for her once we cross that threshold.
