She’d had been working mindlessly when I’d come up to her desk. She’d tilted her head up, waiting for me to say something.

“What’s your favorite food?”

I’d been cocky assuming she’d say she loved dining at the Hyperion Seattle. Sebastian took way too many meetings there and part of it was because of the food. None of it had ever appealed to me.

Nora had frowned, and then surprisingly told me, “My dad’s cooking is the best in Seattle. Why?”

Shock had twisted me up, hell even my Corsican hadn’t bothered to say a word.

“Your dad?”

She’d cracked a smile. “Yeah, why?”

I shrugged. “Thought I might ask you out sometime.”

“Damn,” she’d stood up, giving a little laugh. Her lips had curved her cute face into a smile, her eyes shining. “I might’ve said yes sometime.”

Slipping out of the memory, I continued to stare down at her. “You’re very drunk. Let’s get back to the hotel.”

“No. Not until…” She hiccupped again. “Not until you kiss me.”

I groaned. “Oh Darlin, if I kiss you I won’t stop there. We both know it.”

“Then right here. Like the couple. Fuck me against this wall, Mason. “

I groaned again, partly worried my Corsican would start up again but he remained quiet. I was took a grateful breath, held it and then exhaled before snatching Nora up by her arm and dragging her out of the alley.

I had a hard on from just her words.

There was no way I could fuck a woman like her up against a wall, out in the open for all to see. I respected her too much to do that. Instead, I pulled her by her upper arm back out into the street. We weren’t’ too far away from the hotel.

I breathed a sigh of relief when the lights of Hyperion Rome came into view.

What a fucking birthday…

ChapterEight

Mason

Getting her through the doors of the hotel had been relatively easy. Nora had even waved at the night staff, all bubbly and happy. In the elevator something got into her. The mirrored doors closed, and she took in her reflection and fluffed her hair.

We made eye contact and she turned; her eyes roamed my body hungrily. She had become the big bad wolf and I was little red in that moment.

Turned on wasn’t the word.

“Why did you hit him, I was having fun?” She pouted sexily.

Rolling my eyes, I crossed my arms against my chest. Leaning back against the wall, the elevator gently hummed against my spine. The dark voice remained quiet. Only He could truly answer why he’d done it. Instead, I gave Nora a stony glare.

She rolled her eyes back. “You don’t scare me.”

I smirked. “Yes, I do.”

She stuck her tongue out at me in a childlike manner and the ding of the elevator filled the space. Nora turned and stumbled out nearly knocking over an elderly man who had an ice bucket in his hands. I offered an apologetic look to the man who grumbled something.

There was no time to focus on him because Nora was already trying to get into the wrong room. Racing over, I yanked her away from the door.

“Stop,” I hissed.
