Rolling onto my side, I noticed I was in my bra and panties and my high heeled boots?

It all came back to me then. Every. Single. Little. Detail. From sitting at the bar in the hotel watching couples eating dinner, to walking down the cobble stone streets…

I’d chosen to get fucked up in Rome, Italy. I’d had so many amaretto sours, I was gonna puke up a fucking citrus tree. In fact, I could taste a hint of tangy lemon flavored bile at the back of my throat.

Groaning, I knew that wasn’t all that had happened.

Mason had been there to witness it all too.

That made me sit up.

“Fuck my life,” I groaned.

With sharp pains wracking my brain, I covered my face in embarrassment that only God and myself could feel. It bloomed over my skin, and flowed through my blood threatening to devour me the way I’d wanted to devour Mason last night.

I had thrown myself at Mason last night. Not only thrown, but I’d begged him to fuck me.

“Jesus Anthony Christ, I’m never drinking again.”

My cell phone started up again and I just about lost my shit. Stumbling over with my boots still on, I dropped to my knees searching for my phone. Finally, I found my leather jacket in a corner and pulled my phone out.

Sebastian DeLuca was calling and I knew I’d better answer.

Good this was what I needed to get my life back on track. I was going to avoid all my embarrassing thoughts at this moment and focus on what Mr. DeLuca needed.

“Hey, boss,” I replied wincing.

“Good morning,” came a very chipper voice.

Sebastian DeLuca did not do chipper. This was most definitely not him.

“Mmm, hello?”

“Hi, Nora. This is Brie. I’m so late in getting to you and I had to borrow Sebastian’s phone.”

Breathing out a small sigh of relief, I got on with the pleasantries.

“Brie, what can I do for you?”

She sounded so awake and I knew it was getting late in Seattle. “Ah, yes. I’ve been looking for a party planner.”

“Oh? Do you need me to schedule one? I know a few.” I was frowning and honestly just ready to go and vomit.

Standing up, I started searching for a pen in my laptop bag.

“Actually, I was wondering if you’d…”

“Yes?” I paused in my search.

“I was wondering if you’d plan my engagement party. Sebastian said you’re the most organized and efficient person he knows. That you plan the company parties…”

My fingers corded around my phone, as I was about to take on yet another task. “Really? He did?”

Brie gave a soft laugh. “He did. Nora, you’re amazing and you keep that man in check. I don’t know what he’d do if he lost you.”

Mr. DeLuca’s fiancé was extremely sure of her position in that man’s life to let an admission like that out. “Mr. DeLuca deserves something nice. And you do too. How about you get together some ideas, themes and things. And when I get back from Italy, we’ll sit down and hash out the details?”

Brie let go a sigh of relief. “I was scared you’d say no. I’m going to sleep better tonight, now that this is off my plate. Thank you.”
