“Yeah, well you should watch the news once in a while. Better yet, read a newspaper, print media is dying” Matteo shot back. “I’ll send you a link to the article, I think you might know the writer.”

“I need to spar,” I admitted quietly.

“Oh, you mean thatthing,” Matteo sneered in reference to my Corsican who could hear every word. “Must really be itching to go nuts. I’m set to leave the building in about an hour anyway. Let’s meet at Carmine’s. The key for the gym is under the mat.”

“Bet,” I replied.

As soon as we ended the call, I exited the vehicle cautiously looked around. Some cute blonde pulled up in a BMW with the top down. She wore pink and even had one of those little purse dogs sitting in the front seat.

The Corsican seemed to gag, whereas I wanted to have her gagging on my cock. He wasn’t having it and finally I put the gas pump back in place and stopped ogling the big tittied woman in a way to small pink crop top. She was talking loudly on a cell phone and I knew she wouldn’t suck dick the way Nora had last night.

My balls clenched remembering how her mouth had felt dropping over the piercings.

When I got back into the vehicle, I popped open some hand sanitizer just in time to see the news article come through from Matteo.

I did indeed recognize the name on the Seattle Sentinel’s online front page edition. Elsa Ross was a writer for the online newspaper and one of Brie Dutton’s best friends. I didn’t really know her but I’d been around her a few times when Brie had wanted to go out and Sebastian had decided she was not to be touched. Before that I’d watched her, and the other girl Jo come over for girl’s night out at the nanny’s cottage that Brie had occupied.

Taking a deep breath, I pulled away from the gas station trying to push Nora out of my mind. It honestly was for the best that this was happening.

What could an assassin and an assistant possible have in common? The answer was nothing and I needed to be okay with being her friend. Besides, I’d almost been murdered and had Nora been hurt or in the car when that had happened, I never would have forgiven myself.

Getting into a line that was wrapped around a building to get some coffee, I saw my phone ringing with an unfamiliar number.

I didn’t answer it, just let it ring.

Easing up the line, someone blew their horn at the car in front of us and stuck their hand out the window to give the finger. My phone started ringing again and this time I answered.

“Hello?”

There was a quiet pause on the other end and I started to get agitated.

“Hello?” I asked again.

“M-Mason,” the voice said.

I knew that voice.

At one time I’d craved that voice.

“Gisella,” I breathed.

“Hi,” she offered.

She had my attention now, as I slowly maneuvered the vehicle to the ordering sign. Quickly I gave my order and then came back to Gisella.

“I don’t know why I’m calling,” she admitted.

“It’s good to hear your voice,” I told her.

“I was told that you saved my life,” I could tell she was smiling on the other end.

By the time I got to the front window and paid, Gisella was sounding more and more excited. The Corsican didn’t stir and I didn’t care. I wanted him quiet, he’d been about to drive me fucking nuts since Nora had made her great escape and rejected both of us.

“So I’m planning to come to town,” I heard her say as the vanilla bean flavored coffee touched my tongue.

I took a breath and she spoke.

“When my grandmother grabbed me from the plane, I didn’t have time to really take in my surroundings. I didn’t get to see Sebastian and apparently he’s marrying some bitch. They…”
