“She works for Sebastian, and she’s not an idiot,” I replied. “Anyway thanks for the sparring session. I’m gonna head out. I have things to do today.”

My brothers started to laugh their asses off. I ignored them and headed out to my SUV. Too much shit was coming together now. I hadn’t told my brother’s everything though.

When I’d been in Alaska, I’d thought I’d seen a face in the storm and then again in Rome. Seattle might have had a serial killer terrorizing it, but I might have had a ghost chasing after me. One of my own making.

I had a feeling that this wasn’t going to be the last attempt on my life either. I needed to figure out if what I’d seen was real and there was only one way to do it.

I needed someone with a brain for geeky shit.

Unfortunately, I only knew one person with that skillset.

Flowers, the Corsican was smiling inside of my brain.

I was going to get back into Nora’s orbit with flowers.

ChapterSixteen

Nora

My hot Saturday night had gone swimmingly. I’d spent it folding socks, catching up on All American and running over plans for Mr. DeLuca’s engagement party. Every time I put away a pair of socks, I would have an idea and need to write it down.

Before I knew it, I had thirty-five pages of notes because Brie Dutton had told me, and I quote to, “Go wild.”

Two glasses of wine later, I found myself in bed snuggling with a pillow and feeling relaxed. Mason Zacharra had finally been pushed to the far recesses of my mind.

Sunday rolled around, and my sister picked me up from my apartment. We were headed over to our parents for Sunday dinner. Everybody was going to be there including my older brothers and their wives and all their kids.

Me and my sister were the odd ones out because we didn’t have any kids just yet, which was fine with me.

Rain chatted animatedly talking about an article she’d read the other day. “Girl, you think he’s cutting people up or just strangling them?”

“Who?” I asked tuning back in to the conversation after looking out of the passenger window.

“Damn come back to earth,” she rolled her eyes. “This Rosary killer.”

“Who came up with that name?”

She looked over and frowned. “I don’t know but if I meet him I’ll ask.”

Rain beeped her horn at a car in front of us that had been sitting to long, the light had changed to green moments earlier.

“Hey finish telling me about Rome,” she said and I groaned. “Every time you start we get interrupted. And it’s not like you told me about what happened with you and Mason the other night.”

I sighed because I had been doing well. Mason was pushed to the back of my mind replaced by flowers and wine and party planning.

“Rome was an experience. I mean, I went to hell and back.” I smiled to myself, remembering the raven on Mason’s back seemingly winking at me.

“So you and Mason didn’t fuck around until y’all got back to Seattle?”

I nodded and my sister looked over.

“I wish I had your self-control. I see a man…especially a fine one and I just have to have the dick.”

I shook my head. “Rain. Please, stop.”

“I’m not saving myself for anybody,” she shrugged as we moved through the Sunday traffic at a slow pace.

My sister was getting antsy and I wondered why I had let her talk me into her driving us. I could have driven my own shit.
