They stopped and stared at us. He tried to drag Gisella away but she stood still for a moment longer, shaking him off of her. The wind from the helicopter was throwing her hair all around, her straw colored strands were trying to fight the gusts caused by the whirring blades.

“Well so much for fucking taking him down tonight,” Carmine shrugged as the helicopter took off.

“Fuck him,” I spat.

Sneaky fucking bastard,I thought.

“What do we do?” Matteo asked, watching the helicopter as well.

“Find Nora,” I roared. “We’re gonna split up.”

They flanked me and we headed into the building.

“Are you sure this is the best idea?” Carmine asked.

“If I don’t stop this motherfucker, he won’t stop coming. He’ll come for everyone I care about.”

The moment we were behind the doors of the empty club, my brothers each went off in opposite directions weapons drawn. I headed for the elevator and stepped inside. The doors closed behind me while the florescent light overhead seemed in danger of giving out. It was buzzing loudly as I hit the button for the seventh floor.

During our tour of the Italy club, the hostess had named each floor.

Fittingly, the seventh circle of hell was namedviolence.

I knew Tobias’s bitch ass was going to be there and waiting.

The doors slid open and I had my gun trained immediately. Nothing was there, of course but I knew he was waiting. Stepping out, I tracked the well-lit hallways where nothing stirred. Using my intuition I started forward and my breath hitched in my throat.

Tobias was in the middle of a fighting ring, shirtless and shoeless. Out of all the movies that Nora had made me watch with her, I’d only seen one a few times. Tobias was making me feel as if I’d stepped into a scene fromFight Club. He was worked up and ready to go.

Violence, I thought.

It was one of the only things I was good at.

He began to smile, nearly foaming at the mouth.

“I’ve been waiting Sarge,” he spat.

“Why don’t I go ahead and shoot you right now,” I had the Glock trained on him.

He started to crack his neck, the most disturbing sounds were coming from his body. Tobias was in need of a serious chiropractor.

“You could,” he seethed. “But you’re not a pussy.”

It was my turn to smile now. “No that’s your title, bitch. My father made you his lap dog.”

Tobias began to howl and it made my skin crawl. “When I’m done, I’m going to kill every last Zacharra on the face of this Earth. Now either shoot me or let’s get on with it.”

Fuck it, the Corsican roared.

I was inclined to agree and placed the gun on a chair sitting nearby. I imagined when this Hellfire Club was at full capacity, there was nothing but thunderous applause for the illegal fighters in and out of this ring.

Leaping into the ring, I stared Tobias down. His eyes had gone black. Black veins were popping up all over his face. I’d been to war. Real fucking war. Seen shit no man should ever have to see.

The sight of Tobias was one of the most disturbing things I’d ever laid eyes on.

“Imagine,” he started to speak. “Imagine waking up in a body bag, brought back to life. Given a new chance to bring God’s mercy to those that defile this planet. You did this. This is your fault.”

Tobias struck out first and I managed to block him. Easily, I moved out of the way, and to the other side of the mat.
