“Good morning.” His voice is gruff, thick with desire, and he quickly looks away.

“Good morning,” I say with more sunshine than I feel, refusing to let him see that his absence impacted me in any way. “What’s in the bag?”

Preacher lifts up the paper bag and reaches it out to me, careful to keep some distance between us as if I would just pounce on him, which, to be fair, I really want to.

I inhale deeply and let the scent of sausage, eggs, and salsa wake me up. “Thanks, but you didn’t have to bring me breakfast,” I tell him with a grateful smile.

“Figured you might want something good and greasy to keep that hungover at bay.” He hands me a paper cup holder with a bottle of water and two cups of coffee. “That one is for me,” he says and plucks one cup from the holder.

I laugh. “Is that one of those low-fat, oat milk foamy flat white monstrosities?”

His lips tug into an amused grin. “No. Black with one pump of creamer.”

“Damn, I hope this is the same.”

“It is,” he says and drops down in the chair beside the window, practically on the other side of the room from me.

“I brought your bag inside too. Figured you might want a shower and a change.”

“Thanks.” I unwrap the breakfast burrito and bite into it with a groan of ecstasy that echoes in the room. “Damn, this is good.”

Preacher smiles at me like I’m some adorable kid, which I hate. I know there’s an age difference between us, but our life experiences put us on solid footing. I need to remind him of that.

“You’re welcome,” he says with a smile. “Ace wants to talk to you.”

Which explains why he brought me here last night. “Sure. Can I get some dick first?”

He smiles, and if I’m not mistaken, Preacher blushes. This big, strong, sexy biker is blushing, and it’s due to my words. Well, my words probably combined with my state of undress.

“Gia,” he growls.

“What? I know you want me. I can see it in your eyes, so what’s the problem?”

He stands and tosses his coffee cup in the small metal trash can underneath the small wooden table. “Now isn’t the time.”

“If not now, when?” I sound thirsty as hell, and I know it, but an orgasm would clear my mind so I can come up with a plan for me and Ro to get the hell out of Angel Harbor.

And away from these damn bikers.

“Gia, get in the damn shower.”

He growls his words and sends a wicked spear of electricity through my body so that I visibly shake.

“If you insist,” I tell him around my final bite of breakfast. I wash it all down with the now lukewarm coffee and slide off the bed, removing yesterday’s bra and panties right there in front of Preacher.

I revel in the way his gaze roams over my body, stopping on my tits until my nipples are so hard they ache. His dark gaze slides down to my bare pussy, widens, and shoots up to my face.

“I like the way you look at me,” I tell him honestly. The heat he’s unable to conceal makes me feel wanted and desirable, as if he wants me even if he shouldn’t.

“I like to look at you,” he says and looks away. “Ace is waiting.”

I shower and dress quickly, letting my hair air dry because the last thing I need is another biker pissed off at me. “All right, I’m dressed and ready. Take me to your leader.”

His lips twitch, and Preacher nods toward the door. “Bring your computer.”

“I don’t have it,” I lie because I take my laptop with me everywhere. He nods, and I follow him out. We go back to the same room with the metal chairs, long bar, and pool tables. My eyes cut to the bar and that old bitch isn’t there, but a younger chick, giving me the stank eye.

I spot Ace and Coop across the room, only this time I see two more men, a really hot dude who looks black or mixed and an older dude who wears sunglasses all the time.Great, the whole damn MC is here,I think, and shove my shoulders back to project a confidence I totally don’t feel.
