Once the intersection is clear, I floor it to catch up with them, but after five blocks, it becomes clear that I’ve lost them.

I lost Gia.

“Why?” I roar toward the sky, full of anger and rage. Confusion.

I know what those fuckers did to Kelsey and McKenna and her friend Grace. They nearly killed Letty, and that was just due to the girl’s proximity to the club, their importance to my brothers.

This is different. Gia is useful, connected to the Reckless Souls, and worse, she stole from them.

And they know it.

I know I can’t do this on my own. Coop and I might be pissed at each other, but these are my brothers. I need their help, so I head back to the clubhouse.

I walk inside, anger coursing through me at the sight of everyone sitting around, laughing and smiling as if everything is normal.

Coop turns to me with a stupid-ass grin. “What happened, Preacher? She tell you to get lost?”

“Fuck you,” I spit, so angry I could bash his face in until my fists are bloody and numb.

“Whoa,” he laughs and playfully holds up his hands defensively. “Don’t get pissed at me because she did you a favor.”

“That’s it,” I growl and go to Coop, picking him up by his throat. “The Iron Kings took her, asshole. They came onourproperty, rolling six deep on bikes to protect a fucking van. They planned this shit, Coop, and now they have her.”

Coop shrugs off my hold, and I release him.

“Shit, man, why didn’t you just fucking say that?” He shakes his head and looks at me like I’m the crazy one before he turns to Ace. “What are we gonna do?”

Ace sighs as he gets to his feet. “Wild Man, work with Preacher to find where that black van went. The rest of us will go to all known Iron Kings properties and see what kicks off.” He flashes an expression that’s half a smile and half a grimace. “We’ll get your girl back, Preacher.”

He's telling me to stay behind, that I can’t go with my brothers to rescue my girl, and I don’t want to hear it. “I’m coming with you.”

Ace shakes his head. “You’re staying here. Provide back up to Wild Man.”

I nod, angry but accepting my fate. “I clipped one of them, so they’ll need medical help.”

“I’ll scan hospitals and clinics in the area, see if they go inside or if anyone goes to them,” Wild Man calls out, eyes still on his computer screen.

The clubhouse door swings open, and Shades strolls in with two prospects behind him. “What the fuck was the melee?”

“Iron Kings took Gia.”

He whistles. “We goin’ to fuck some shit up?” He grins and punches his right fist into his left palm a few times. “I wouldn’t mind bathing in the blood of a few Iron Kings.”

“Ace. Come look at this.” The room falls silent at the intensity in Wild Man’s tone. Usually he’s so easygoing.

“You found something?” Ace says, his voice lethally calm.

“I think so, yeah.” Wild Man points to the screen as soon as Ace takes a seat, fully aware that all eyes are on them.

“Is this for real?”

Wild Man nods. “I went through everything twice just to make sure. It all checks out.”

I feel some of the tension leave my body but only for a second. Somehow I just know that Wild Man has just cleared Gia of any wrongdoing, which means that someone is fucking with our club, and it’s likely Hector.

“Son of a fucking bitch,” Ace growls, shaking his head. “Everybody who ain’t patched, get the fuck out. Now. Back to your posts,” Ace barks out. His fists clench tight, and his face is an alarming shade of red.

“What’s up?” Shades asks in his usual laidback tone.
