Dix is my fucking brother, even before I joined the MC, and I would do anything for him.

“You still at the Airbnb ? Preacher is headed your way now. Head over to Morgan International and see what the fuck is going on. My gut says something’s wrong.”

“Yeah, I’m still here.” I nod even though Ace can’t see me. “Dix would never stay out of touch this long.”

I rush down the stairs while Ace details his concerns and grab my clothes first, and then grab Willow’s before heading back up to her.

“I’ll be in touch,” I tell him and end the call. I dress quickly before I go to Willow.

“Babe,” I kiss her forehead. “Wake up,” I whisper and kiss her lips until her eyelids start to flutter.

“Mmm,” she moans and smiles up at me, putting one hand on my jaw. “Is it morning already?”

“No, babe. It’s fucking early, but I need to go. Preacher is on his way here, so I can’t get you back to the clubhouse.”

She sits up and nods, her expression serious. “Go take care of business. I’ll get an Uber or something.”

“No. Stay here, and don’t open the door for anyone who isn’t part of the MC. Got it?”

She blinks quickly but nods slowly. “Yeah, sure, babe. If you say so.”

“I do.”

She grins up at me and leans back on the bed, looking tempting as fuck with her bare tits out, hard nipples shooting up at the ceiling. “Then I’ll stay. Be safe.” She yawns and then blows me a kiss before dropping back on the pillow and drifting back to sleep.

I watch her until I hear the roar of Preacher’s bike coming down the street. Her words,be safe, echo in my mind as I join Preacher on the street. It’s such a small, simple statement, but it means so fucking much.

I push thoughts of Willow to the side when we pull up to Morgan International. The place is dark, and it looks empty, which is fucking strange for a business of this caliber. This is a port business, and they are always open, loading and unloading cargo.

“We need to get inside,” Preacher whispers.

I nod. “I’ll find us a way inside. Keep watch.”

I circle the building until I find the perfect entry point, a service exit with a lock that’s easy to pick. I motion to Preacher, and we go inside, using the light on our phones to guide us through the pitch-black halls.

“It’s so fucking dark,” he growls. “Like intentionally dark.”

I nod and swivel my head. Nothing untoward jumps out at me, so we take the building floor by floor. Still, not one goddamn thing out of the ordinary. No broken windows or pilfered files. Nothing.

“Well, shit,” I say.

Preacher laughs. “Disappointed?”

A little. “No, but it’s not just Dix who isn’t here. There’s nobody here, not even a fucking security guard. That’s not good.”

Preacher’s phone buzzes, and he damn near blinds me when he checks the screen. “Wild Man pinged Dix’s phone. He’s at the daughter’s place. Let’s go.”

“Aria?” I shake my head and smile because, of course, Dix is at her house. He’s pumping her for intel, and it looks like that isn’t all he is pumping her for. “Dirty dog.”

Preacher grins and shakes his head. “Get your mind out of the gutter, and let’s go.”

“I can’t help it, brother. I was born for the gutter.”

Preacher laughs again, and we jump on our bikes. Seconds later, we head to Aria Morgan’s suburban home. It has enough security to keep most threats away.

But we’re the Reckless Souls. We aren’t your everyday threat.

“Holy shit, this is her place?” It’s a goddamn palace, complete with medieval architecture and two fucking turrets. “This isn’t real life, is it?”
