She rolls her eyes. “Okay, she just moved down here to handle Travis and Nancy’s office. And I guess you know she’s one of the O’Bryans.”
I nod.
“That little Callie is not happy about the move, from what I can tell.”
“Have you met her before today?” I ask.
She shakes her head. “Naw. Callie’s a dancer though, so I worked my magic to get her into the class Debbie is taking. I thought it might help since Callie’s been giving her mother the glare of death.”
I draw in a breath. “Yeah, Everly still gives me that look.”
“That’s because you’re a stupid boy.”
I ignore that comment because I grew up with Everly. I’ve heard it a lot. “So, she’s living here.”
“Yeah.”
That means I’ll be running into her all the time. I could write off my reaction to her and our night as nothing that big. But the reaction I had back there? That wasn’t normal. I’m friends with my ex-lovers. No harm, no foul is my motto.
But Liv? I wanted to pull her out of that booth and kiss her silly. I didn’t care who was looking. I just wanted everyone to know that she was mine.
“Mason!”
I blink, and my gaze focuses on Jessica again.
“What?”
“I said your name like three times.”
“Okay. Fine.”
“You’re acting weird.”
“There’s no such thing as weird in Juniper. It would be weird if I acted normal.”
She shakes her head. “Are we done here?”
“Yeah.”
“Wait until my grandmother finds out about this.”
The door shuts, and I’m left alone thinking about what I should do. It was pretty clear she didn’t know the Mason in The Mason Jar was the man who had his mouth on every part of her body that he could put it on.
My entire body shivers at the memory. I know that I would do it again if given a chance.
I scrub a hand over my face, then Jessica’s words come back to me.
Wait until my grandmother finds out about this.
Her grandmother is Mrs. Petersen, the queen bee of the LOLs.
