When he told me about it last night, he’d used the word “magical.” He’d also said Tryst, who was Brix’s uncle—at least I thought that was what he’d said—had named the ranchEl Lugar de Curación, which translated to the Healing Place.

“I talked to my mom about it after you left. She agreed that, even though I was missing then and she was terrified, being there somehow soothed her. She said something about it having a ‘harmonious energy field’ that made her feel like you were going to find me and I’d be okay.”

Press nodded again. “I have experienced an inexplicable sense of peace and tranquility with every visit.”

“It sounds intriguing.”

“If you find yourself compelled over intrigued, say the word, and we’ll visit.”

We’d just finishedbreakfast when my phone chimed with a message from my sister.

“Everything okay?” Press asked after I’d read it.

“Seraphina and Ridge are on their way here. She said there’s something important she wants to talk to me about.”

“My apologies for needing to leave before they arrive, but if I intend to return tomorrow, I should be on my way.”

“Don’t apologize. I’ll be okay,” I said to myself as much as to him.

He stood, then leaned down to kiss my forehead like he always did. “Stop biting your lip, Luisa.”

I did and smiled as I watched him walk away. I missed him already, something I could not admit to Dr. Benedict.

My sister was glowingwhen she and Ridge pulled up in front of the cottage where my mom and I sat, enjoying the sunshine.

“Hey,” she said, getting out of the car and walking over to kiss my cheek. “Where’s Press?”

“He had to go. Something about spending time with his mother. He may have said he was summoned.”

“Speaking of being summoned, I’m supposed to help Sorcha and Bradley with tonight’s dinner,” said our mom. She stood and kissed Seraphina’s cheek before walking away.

“I should probably go check in with my parents,” said Noah, who’d walked up behind my sister.

I looked up at him. “Before you do, there’s something I want to talk to you both about.”

“Go ahead,” said my sister when Noah pulled a chair over to sit.

I told them what Press and I had talked about last night and this morning. First, about finishing my degree, then about visiting the ranch.

“That’s where we stayed when we were first looking for you,” she said, squeezing my hand.

“Press also said it’smagical. Mom agreed.”

Seraphina smiled. “She did?”

“Press said he could take us there in his plane if we wanted to go.”

“Press has been a busy guy,” Noah said under his breath.

“I want to go, and I know you’ll have a fit unless you go too. Then, when we get back, I’ll finish out my classes,” I said, hoping she’d agree.

“Have you brought this up to Mom?”

“I asked her about the ranch, but not about visiting. I figured you’d be the harder one to convince.”

When Noah laughed, my sister smacked him. “Hush, you,” she said.

My phone vibrated, and when I checked the screen, I saw it was Press calling. “Be right back,” I said to my sister before going inside. “Hi,” I answered.
