My heart stops as I stare at the beautiful sparkling diamond ring in awe.No way…

“Marry me, Carrie,” he says in that smooth deep voice that makes me shiver every time I hear it. “Be my wife. I want to be with you forever. I’m already committed to you in every way. Let’s make it official.”

I stare at him in shock. I can’t even think straight.

“Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?”

I can’t speak, so I nod. “Yes,” I manage to squeak out. “Yes, I’ll marry you, Tyler.”

He leaps up and swallows me in his big arms. I giggle in happiness as he spins me around.

My head continues spinning with a million excited thoughts as he puts the ring on my finger. I’d marry him right now if I didn’t have some maid of honor duties to perform.

This is Mia’s wedding, but this moment is just for us.

I won’t tell anyone about this today. I don’t want to take anything away from my best friend’s wedding.

Besides, I kind of like having a secret with this man. It’s naughty and fun.

I give him back the ring to hold onto, even though it pains me to take it off my finger. Once this wedding is over and I can put it back on, I’ll never take it off. Ever. Even to do the dishes.

We walk back outside holding hands with big smiles on our faces.

The wedding continues and nobody suspects that I’m engaged to this amazing man. It’s our little secret.

We spend the rest of the night dancing, laughing with friends, and falling even deeper in love. My maid of honor speech goes amazing and everyone laughs at my stories and jokes. I’m nervous at first, but knowing that Tyler is in the room helps calm me down.

Mia loves it and gives me a huge hug in front of everyone.

All in all, it’s the best night of my life.

And with this extraordinary man by my side, I can tell the good times are just starting!

Epilogue

Carrie

Three months later…

“What kind of bird is that?” one of my riders asks as our horses walk up the mountain.

Oh shit, I have no idea.

“That’s a brown princess woodpecker,” I say, pulling the random name out of my ass. Hopefully, there are no bird experts among them to correct me.

They all just nod and take pictures of it before it flies away.Phew!

This is only the third tour I’ve given as a guide. Tyler trained me for a few weeks, taking me on other tours and getting me familiar with the horses and all the problems that can pop up. Last weekend, he finally said that I was ready to take out riders on my own. I was nervous, but so far it’s been going well. Well, except whenever someone asks me about random birds…

We got married the day after Mia’s wedding. We couldn’t wait another minute. We woke up, had a quick breakfast, had a quickie on the kitchen table, and then rushed down to the courthouse. The second it opened, we were first in line to get hitched.

I moved from Calgary to Montana and never looked back. Iadoreliving with Tyler. Going to bed with him every night and waking up beside his big hulking body is better than any fantasy I’ve ever managed to dream up.

We’ve been getting along great and our connection seems to deepen every day.

I still work remotely for the marketing company, but I’m thinking of ditching it and growing this business with Tyler. He’s been doing well, but I think I can really grow and expand it throughout the area with some simple advertising and by giving the company a nice rebrand. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately.

“Wow,” one of the girls behind me whispers and I smile, knowing exactly what she’s whispering in awe over.
