“Tell me you didn’t give me a hickey,” I say, alarmed.

“Er…”

I lift my head and look over my shoulder at him. “You did not!”

He pulls an eek face. “It’s very faint.”

“Hux!”

He kisses me. “I told you I was going to mark you,” he teases. “Spoil you for other men.”

You’ve already done that. I don’t say the words, but I think he might see them in my eyes because his brows draw together, and then he settles down behind me, pulling me back against him.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers, kissing my neck. “I shouldn’t have said that.”

“It’s okay.”

“It’s not. I know we’re not dating yet. I was riled up.”

“I noticed.”

“It’s your fault,” he insists. “Lying there naked and inviting.”

“And covered in chocolate.”

“And covered in chocolate,” he echoes.

“Well, you’ve had me now,” I say. “Twice. Do you think it’s abated your hunger?”

“Maybe for about half an hour. But we’re only two-fifths of the way there.”

I groan and slap his arm. “I’m knackered. And I don’t believe you can have sperm left.”

“I do think I’ve probably ejaculated enough to fill two whisky barrels now.”

I laugh weakly. “I think that’s probably enough to do the job.”

“We’ll see. I have all night with you lying next to me.”

“Naked and inviting.”

“Yeah. Naked and inviting. I’ll never make it till daybreak.”

I close my eyes. “Well, you know where I am.”

“Mmm.”

I turn my head and kiss his shoulder, and inhale.

“Did you just sniff me?” he asks.

“You smell nice.” I yawn. “I like your aftershave. I haven’t smelled it before.”

“I bought it for you,” he says.

I kiss his arm, warmed through by his words.

I’d like to tell him how great I feel. But I’m too tired.
