All around them, people who weren’t dancing clinked their glasses, making a noise that drowned out the band. Simon gave in and kissed his husband to applause and hoots that were likely encouraged by the open bar.

“Just one dance?” Ben asked, making the pouty face that they both knew Simon couldn’t resist.

Simon kissed him again. “I thought after the dance we could sneak out and go to the penthouse.”

Ben’s eyes sparkled. They lived in the townhouse with Mother because Ben preferred it, but sometimes, if they wanted utter privacy, they would stay the night at the penthouse. Ben could scream his adorable head off and there was no one at all to hear. “That is a good plan, husband.” He drew nearer to Simon. “If you want, we can skip the dance.”

Simon grinned back at Ben, utterly and absolutely and hopelessly in love with him. “That’s an even better idea. Shall we go?” He offered his arm to Ben, the man who held Simon’s heart in the palm of his paint-stained hand. Simon might have rescued Ben, but Ben had rescued Simon right back.

“With you?” Ben looked up at Simon with all his love showing in his eyes. “Yes. Always yes. An entire world full of yes.”

Simon kissed his husband thoroughly then grabbed his hand, knowing that whatever happened, he and Ben would live happily ever after, together, forever.
