“We have to get dressed and fetch our birth certificates,” I informed Jett. My mind whirled like crazy, and he pushed away to stare me in the face. “After the tests are completed, we need to hit city hall and get married. If we’re going for custody of that little girl, we must prove we’re in a strong relationship.”

“You wanna get wed?” Jett rumbled, shocked.

“It’s quick, no doubt about that, but Ursula’s your daughter, dreadful name, that needs to change! The test is just a formality. Even if Ursula is your brother’s kid, she’s still your niece, and if the twatwaffle washed his hands of her, then we can step up, right?” I asked Jett, sitting up and drawing the sheets to my chest.

“The best thing I ever did was follow you that day, baby. Don’t know what I did to deserve you, but fuck, I’ll break my back, making you happy every day of my life.”

“And I’ll stand by you forever,” I told him gently, my voice trembling with unshed tears. Jett pushed himself up on his elbows and kissed me.

“Need a house. Mine is too small. I might get a mortgage on it, but I’m not kicking Reid out,” I said with a frown.

“Fuck no. Reid stays there. We’ll buy somewhere; I got a fair bit of money saved. We can put down a decent whack,” Jett replied musingly.

“I have little in savings,” I offered.

“Hey, we won’t be able to look in Drake and Ace’s area, probably not even Texas’s. But we’ll find somewhere nice,” Jett said.

“You’ll look around our area. I’ll pay cash and no mortgage, and you can work out payments with Drake,” a voice announced from the doorway. We both looked up and saw Phoe standing, glaring at Jett with her hands on her hips.

“Phoe!” Jett yelled as I shrieked and pulled the covers up to my neck.

Drake smirked at me over her shoulder.

“My area!” Phoe waggled a finger and shot us both a frown. I didn’t know Phoe that well, but Jett did, and he shut up.

“Phoe, we can’t afford near you. I’m sure you’re in a super-duper street, but we need to think smaller and more reasonable,” I argued.

“Not arguing; we can work a payment plan out. Now get dressed and get that damn test done. Steven is working on a draft for the courts to apply for sole custody. Hawthorne is digging into Dina’s past. Cunt’s really fuckin’ clueless who she’s messed with,” Drake gloated.

“I’ll set my PA looking for houses. How exciting!” Phoe exclaimed and disappeared, her heels clicking loudly down the corridor. Drake stared at us, one at a time.

“Where you hear from?” Jett rumbled, eyeing Drake.

“Buying a house in our area.”

“Can’t afford that, brother,” Jett returned.

Drake gave him the dead eye, and Jett stopped arguing.

“My woman will end up with the entire fuckin’ MC within ten minutes of us. Phoe wants that; she gets that,” Drake growled. Jett rolled his eyes as I squirmed next to him, aware I was stark naked under the sheet.

“Yeah,” Jett drew out the word.

“Phoe will hit the roof when you two announce you’re hitched. Be warned.” Drake smirked and left, shutting the door.

“Drake guessed?” I asked Jett, wide-eyed.

“Drake knows everything,” Jett replied with a grin. “If he doesn’t, Texas or Hawthorne does. Let’s get this test done and get married.” Jett stood up, my eyes trailed up his body, and I grinned as Jett’s dick twitched towards me.

“You’re gonna kill me,” Jett muttered and walked into his tiny bathroom.

???

Four hours later, we were wed and sitting in Steven’s office in Phoe’s HQ. I hadn’t known Steven worked for Phoe and was one of the best in his field. Luckily, Steven had experience in family law because of Phoe and the Trusts, which was in our favour. He sat down and explained the draft he was presenting to court and that we’d have the test results tomorrow by noon at the latest.

Steven had taken several depositions from witnesses who had been in the clubhouse at the time of Dina’s bombshell. He’d transcribed the video and prepared copies. He said he’d take ours in the morning, but he’d filed a custody petition and made a call to a judge who was a friend. The judge planned to hold the hearing in two weeks after she’d moved some cases around.

We’d installed Dina in a good hotel, limiting how much Dina could order. Hawthorne’s men watched the door if Dina tried to do a bunk with Ursula Jean Letitia, the poor baby. Jett had made a modest payment to cover their costs. Grumpily, Jett muttered something about changing Ursula’s name as soon as he got custody, and I was in complete agreement.
