“No,” I snickered.
Axel turned to Jett. “Jett, brother of Rage MC, father of Amelia, father of my countless un-named grandchildren yet to come. Do you take this woman to be your old lady? To have and to hold, to love and to sex up, to hold her hair back when she pukes. And to fall over her high heels for the rest of your life?”
I was laughing with everyone else as Jett shouted loudly that he did. Axel turned to me as I wiped tears from my eyes.
“Sin, with the beautiful eyes, face and body made for loving and my future grandchildren. Do you take this poor wretched excuse of a brother to be your lifelong old man? To have and to hold? To nag and bitch, to pick up dirty clothes and odd socks for the rest of your life, to be sexed up like mad whenever the feeling takes?”
I was laughing so hard I couldn’t reply. Axel glared at me.
“I do, I do!” I shrieked, gasping for breath. Axel nodded firmly.
“Then I, as Chaplin of Rage MC, declare you to be Old Man and Old Lady, ball and chain, beauty and the beast, Badass biker dude and Badass biker babe. Everyone, I give you Mr and Mrs Alexander Cutter, known as Jett and Sin,” Axel boomed at the top of his lungs.
Jett kissed me hard, with Amelia between us.
“Mama, Papa,” Amelia squealed, and we looked at her.
Oh my god, did she just speak?
“Amelia?” Drake asked, crowding around.
“Mama and Papa! Unca Dray, Aun’ Nix!” Amelia screeched, threw her head back, and laughed.
“Grandpapa Al,” Amelia howled again, giggling, and Jett gathered me in his arms and kissed me harder. Axel swooped and grabbed Amelia and tossed her in the air. Mac started a beat on the drums and Texas, and Hunter came in a few seconds later, and Slick began belting out ‘Take Me Home, Country Road.’
Life was good.
Life was great.
That shy, socially awkward woman had finally found a home. It had just taken a while.
The Rage of Reading Characters.
Rage MC
Drake Michaelson.DOB 1975. His father started Rage MC and died before Drake was old enough to become President. He became VP and then, in a hostile takeover, became President. Phoenix thinks he looks like Tim McGraw with longer hair. Drake has a lanky leanness to him but has well-defined muscles. Drake sports dark brown eyes with laughter lines. He’s six foot four. In March 2015, his son Dante Chance Michaelson was born. Drake considers Detective Antonio Ramirez and PI Dylan Hawthorne close friends.
Apache. DOB 1967. He is one of Drake’s enforcers. Ace is his only son. Apache was widowed when Ace was young. He has bright green eyes and is six foot two. He is Native American. Apache’s described as absolutely stunning with gorgeous, high cheekbones and raven black hair that hangs past his shoulders. He was born in 1969. Silvie Stanton has been in love with him for many years.
Ace. DOB 1983. Ace is Drake’s VP. He’s described as looking like a young Lou Diamond Phillips. Like his father, he is Native American. Ace has bright green eyes, six foot two. He is described much the same as his father, absolutely stunning with gorgeous, high cheekbones and raven black hair that hangs past his shoulders. Ace was in love with Kayleigh Mitchell and thought she’d left him. Ace discovers that Kayleigh hadn’t left him but had been tortured and left for dead. He has two children, Nova and Falcon.
Fish.DOB 1978. Fish is Drake’s sergeant at arms. He’s been married to Marsha for many years. They can’t have children.
Marsha.DOB 1979. Fish’s old lady and the only old lady until Phoe meets Drake. She’s known to be kind and caring.
Texas.DOB 1970. Texas is an older man. He is the MC’s secretary. He was born in 1970. Does bike design and specialised paintwork. Texas has a daughter. He has a strong moral code, but he knows what the MC is capable of. He once alludes to cleaning up after their messes.
Axel.DOB 1951. Axel was one of the founders of the club. He is the Chaplin of the MC. He has blue eyes, and he is heavily bearded and very loud. He’s built like a mountain. Axel has wild hair which hangs to his shoulders. Axel disappears in The Hunters Rage. There is mention of his messed-up kids, and Axel has gone to resolve an issue with them. He returns at the end of this book to marry Sin and Jett.
Gunner.DOB 1976. Gunner is one of Drake’s Enforcers at the MC. Gunner is described as having silver-grey eyes. He was shot three times in the Rage of Reading, resulting in heart surgery. He is the younger brother of James Washington.
Slick.DOB 1978. Slick loves books and is happy reading quietly. He has soft brown eyes and is heavily muscled. Slick loves reading and is single-handedly keeping the Reading Nook open!
Manny.DOB 1983. Manny takes an interest in Sin and threatens to make a move on her if Jett doesn’t pull his head out of his ass! He’s described as tall, sexy as in the cute boy next door way, with tousled blond hair and light amber-coloured eyes. Manny is firm in teaching Jett how to treat a woman like Sin.
