Resigned, I tilted her chin and dropped a kiss on her lips. We’d not progressed much beyond kissing and light touching. I didn’t want to force Aurora into something she wasn’t ready for, but hell, if I didn’t have blue balls.

Aurora deepened the kiss of her own accord, and I was happy to let her lead the way. There was no denying the love I experienced for Aurora Victoria, and this felt nice, not rushing into anything and taking our time.

I know Rosie and Calamity were feeling much the same, now we were free of Rage. The heaviness that had weighed on our shoulders concerning telling the club about our soulmates had faded quickly. Especially after Texas spewed venom everywhere. Unlike Calamity, I was settling into life without Rage MC, and so was Aurora.

With Aurora, I knew it would be easier for her than Rosie. Aurora’s grandmother had scooped her up and taken her away when Bulldog began his shenanigans. Fuck, I wish the man was still alive today because I’d like to beat him myself. He’d caused considerable damage, and whether Drake and the others realised it, Bulldog still overshadowed much of their thought processes.

Phoe was right in the fact Drake was slow to change, but I somehow doubted it was because he was resistant to changes. Oh hell, no, Drake was resistant, no doubt about that. Who was I attempting to fool? But Drake would act slowly in matters concerning the MC. Especially when it goes against the club’s grain. Because Drake would always put his brothers first, but in this matter, Drake forgot Calamity had also been a brother.

“Klutz?” Aurora asked, jerking me from my thoughts. “You were miles away.”

“Just thinking, honey.”

“About Rage? Hey, it’s okay. Nobody can deny how traumatic that confrontation was. I thought Rage had changed, but how Texas blew was how short tempers used to be under Bulldog.”

“Think Calamity and I triggered something?” I asked curiously.

“No doubt. But I don’t care. Rage had no right to judge like that!” Aurora hissed, making me laugh and drop a kiss on her head.

She reminded me of a spitting and hissing kitten.

“Aurora, I don’t believe they were judging the two of us. More like Calamity, he was so proud of what he could offer Rosie. It was sickening being in that room and feeling the anger flowing and the sense of betrayal from Calamity.”

“Klutz, don’t think about it. You and Calamity did the right thing. You wouldn’t be the men we believed you to be if you gave us up,” Aurora said, patting my thigh.

My cock surged towards her as I begged myself not to consider where that tiny hand was placed.

“Have you thought about how you plan to market the shop?” I asked, changing the subject. My cock twitched as if to say good luck. Annoying fucker.

“No, I’m just going to open. Do a few articles and a leaflet drop and announce it on my website and then let the good times roll.”

I snorted at how blasé Aurora was about it. Nothing phased her.

“Just like that?” I teased.

“Yup, I have a solid rep for being reliable and highly accurate. Those aware of me in nearby states will travel, and a couple of my regulars who see me every four months plan to fly out when I open up.”

“Wow, so you really do have followers!” I said, trying not to sound too surprised. Aurora must be a big deal if people were willing to fly.

A wet paintbrush hit me in the face, making me splutter.

“Hey!” I exclaimed as Aurora got up and laughed.

I rose to my feet, intending to retaliate, and stepped straight into the paint pot. Aurora screeched with laughter as paint clung to my boot and jeans above the ankle.

“Seriously?” I asked the world at large as Aurora kept laughing. With a scowl, I stomped off to the bathroom and removed my boots and jeans to clean them as best as possible. Luckily, there were some overalls I could wear, but I’d have to be barefoot. When I returned, Aurora had already cleaned the mess up and was giggling.

She stopped at then stared with a serious face.

“Klutz, I have given readings to Hollywood stars and Nashville legends. I’ve been consulted by wealthy and influential businessmen and the little old lady down the road. Klutz, I’m not bragging nor exaggerating when I say I am damn good and also honest. If I can’t read someone, I tell them and refund their money.

“I don’t seek fame and fortune, but my name is out there as the best medium in the business. Rarely am I wrong in my reading of somebody or my predictions. Although ethics stop me from spilling nasty shit, such as death, I can warn someone to be careful. It’s not my place to stop death or tell somebody how to live their life. It’s my job to inform them what I see within the boundary of my ethical and moral guidelines.”

“Like you knew something bad was coming for Mac and Casey when they got kidnapped. Yet you didn’t see yourself included?”

“Just like that. I sensed something awful was coming, but not exactly what. And I never get to witness anything about myself. I’m totally blind to where my future is concerned. The only thing I’ve ever known is when I met your eyes, I knew we were meant to be together,” Aurora said shyly.

“Honey, I was spellbound the moment I saw you,” I admitted, and Aurora offered one of her sweet smiles. Damn, this woman had me wrapped around her little finger.
