His eyes dance with mischief, almost as though he’s picturing all the ways he’s going to show his appreciation for me coming tonight. Not a moment later, he mouths it back to me, making those pesky butterflies swarm through my stomach.

Zara groans next to me. “You two are going to make me nauseous, aren’t you?”

I can’t help but laugh. “Yeah, probably.”

We watch as the Dragons step onto the ice, and it’s obvious that Xander belongs there. He’s only warming up, and yet he’s already dominating. The way he so effortlessly moves across the ice is incredible. I’ve never been ice skating, but I know I’d be terrible at it.

Someone skates past Xander, and my eyes follow along. “Ahh, there’s Aaron,” I tell Zara, but when I look over at her, it’s clear she’s already spotted him.

The game gets started, and I watch in awe as Xander, Jaxon, and Bobby seem to work as a unit, scoring one goal after another and wiping the ice with the other team. I hardly understand what it is I’m watching, but I know what I’m witnessing is something amazing. Hell, just like when I’m watching Xander in the ring, I can’t seem to tear my eyes away.

By the end of the game, I can honestly say that tonight has been one of the best nights of my life, and the beauty of it is that it’s only just begun.

Zara and I head downstairs after the final buzzer sounds, and we wait for Xander to come out of the locker room as we rave about the game. To Zara’s pleasure, Xander comes out with Aaron right by his side. I should have known they would be together. After Aaron busted him at the fight, they’ve been tied at the hip. As much as I hate sharing my time with Xander, it’s actually really nice knowing Xander can finally be himself.

“Hey, babe,” Xander says as he makes his way over to me. He drops his bag at our feet and pulls me right up off the ground as he wraps his arms around me. “You look so fucking sexy in my jersey,” he murmurs into my ear. “The things I’m going to do to you in this . . .”

“You want me to wear it for you later?” I reply with a grin, both of us with a one-track mind.

“Fuck, yeah,” he says before narrowing his eyes in suspicion. “Don’t get me wrong, I loved having you in the stands and watching me skate, but what are you doing here? Did Micky finally force you to have a night off?”

“He wishes,” I scoff. “The bar flooded, so I’m all yours for the next few nights.” A groan travels up his throat as his eyes become hooded, and I have no doubt he’s thinking about all the things we could get up to. “You were amazing,” I add, my voice filled with pride.

Without another word, he crushes his lips to mine, kissing me deeply and making me melt in his arms.

Not wanting to be rude to our audience, Xander pulls back and reluctantly places me back on my feet. “This is Zara,” I say to Xander and Aaron, who are probably wondering why some random girl is standing beside us and watching me and Xander make out. “She works at the salon with me. Zara, this is Xander and Aaron.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Aaron says, instantly stepping forward and taking her petite hand in his. He brings it up to his face and gingerly places a kiss just above her knuckles, laying on the charm. And goddamn, she eats it up.

“The pleasure’s all mine,” Zara says with a sultry tone as her eyes travel up and down his strong body, probably remembering exactly what’s underneath those clothes from his page in the calendar—a calendar that she’s still clutching tightly.

Aaron’s eyes light up with interest, and I know my great night is about to get even better. “What are you guys up to?” I ask, knowing they always end up somewhere after a game.

“Jaxon’s having a party at his place,” Xander says, “And you’re coming.”

I grin at his assumption as I turn to Zara. “Are you up for a party?”

She turns toward Aaron, looking at him like a lioness about to strike. “That depends if Aaron’s going.”

A cocky grin crosses Aaron’s face, and I know there’s no chance in hell he’s missing this party tonight. “Fuck yeah, baby. I’ll be there.”

Xander rolls his eyes at their display. “We’ll take my truck,” he says, and without another word, Aaron’s hand falls to the small of Zara’s back as he leads the way out the door.

Xander and I follow behind, and he pulls me into his arms as we head out to his truck. “She seems nice,” Xander comments, watching the two of them up ahead of us. “You like this one?”
