“Shit,” he breathes, followed by the sound of rustling.

“Didn’t mean to scare you,” I laugh.

“What are you talking about? You look sexy as hell.”

“Uh, this shirt was a freebie from some fun run I was stupid enough to enter when I forgot that I hate running and the shorts I’ve had since high school.”

“Well, I like them.”

“They’re tattered, and I didn’t think this photo would be such a tease,” I say.

“Baby,” Nate replies, “You look sexy all the damn time. I’d get an erection if you wore a housecoat and had curlers in your hair.”

I have to bark out a laugh. “Be serious.”

“I am. I’m hard right now, looking at your legs.”

“What are you going to do about it?” Meredith asks.

“Probably beat off as soon as I hang up the phone.”

A strange thrill runs up my spine at knowing a photo of me at my laziest aroused him. “Really?”

“Yep. And I’m chuckingStellalunaon the floor. Feels unholy to stare at the cover of a kids’ book at the moment.”

This makes me laugh harder than it should.

Then, carefully, I ask, “Do you…need to hang up now?”

“Don’t want to. Would rather stay on the phone until you’re asleep,” I say.

This guy. “Can I ask you a personal question, Nate?”

“Of course.”

“Do you…have you ever…touched yourself thinking of me before?”

“Yes,” he answers immediately.

Oh, wow. This conversation is getting weird. But I don’t hate it. I flatten one palm against my chest, noticing my warm skin, racing pulse, and the throb between my thighs.

“When?”

“Every night.”

I sit up straight, my back coming off the wall. “Every night?” I’m shocked.

“Well. If you came into my shop that day, then yes. That night.”

“Since when?”

“Since the night we met.”

“At Violetta’s victory party?”

“Yup.”

I don’t know what to say. Should I be flattered?
