“Because you are…”

The call ended abruptly, and Emily sighed heavily, wondering what else he was going to say or if there was more to that sentence. She needed to go shopping, start getting her things together, and had less than three weeks until she flew to Las Vegas to meet up with John… and attend the convention.

A week later, she was shocked and amazed at what a decent swimsuit could do for a woman’s body. She had always been flat as a board on top, hating her A-cup bosom, and was picked on her entire high school life because of it. Now, standing there in the changing room, trying on a bikini with her underwear on… she was shocked at the difference.

The top of the swimsuit was a cup that was slightly padded and lifted, but the way the black material was pleated and draped… she looked like she actually had something up there!

The bikini bottom was modest with a bow sewn on either side giving it a feminine look that was not quite so stark against her pale skin. She tucked her cotton panties just inside the hem, to make sure and get the ‘whole picture,’ because it meant a lot to her to look nice for John.

Yes, the woman’s reflection in the mirror was not the girl she saw every morning in the bathroom. No, this woman looked confident, happy, and almost sleek in the getup… making her take a photo of it for him.

You can’t say that I’m not trying to impress the boyfriend that I sincerely adore…

Do you like it?

I’m definitely buying this one!

She emailed the photo to him with the brief note from the dressing room, before changing into an evening gown that was almost as breathtaking as the swimsuit.

“Well, okay… guess I’m buying both items,” she muttered aloud in surprise.

Shopping never went like this.

She never found things that fit right, looked good, or were completely perfect on the first go-around. She knew she needed to have a pretty dress for dinner one evening, but had no idea what else was planned.

Every other meeting or event she would be wearing slacks, blouses, and perhaps khakis if it was casual. In fact, she told John to pack jeans, a polo shirt, and something to wear to a dinner event in case they got roped into something.

She really didn’t want to go to anything after the meetings because they had plans, but she might have to make an appearance…

Her phone rang while she was dressing.

“Hello?”

“If you don’t buy that… can you take a picture of the tag and email it to me?” John whispered. “I have never seen anything more beautiful than the goddess I’m looking at right now.”

“I’m buying the bikini,” she whispered, blushing. “I’m actually still in the changing room. Did you just get up for work?”

“Yeah, and about choked to death on my coffee when I saw all that creamy skin… my goodness, you are breathtaking.”

“Stahhhp,” she hissed softly, embarrassed. “Someone’s going to hear you say that and…”

“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met in my entire life, and I can’t wait to see you on my arm in Vegas. It’s a good thing that isn’t the photo in my plane, or I might crash it.”

“Yeah, please don’t do that…”

“Emily?”

“Yes?”

“Would you be alarmed if I said that I felt something more than friendship for you… and really cannot wait to kiss you senseless,” John whispered huskily, his voice exceedingly tender. “I might really need to kiss you before we ever leave the airport, to make up for lost time.”

“Would you be alarmed if I said that I felt the same way?” she murmured, feeling tears sting her eyes as she realized just how intense this was between them. “I planned on throwing myself at you the moment I saw you, so yeah… feel free to ‘kiss away, X-Ray’.”

“Good,” he chuckled nervously. “I mean, some full-on, serious kissing…”

“Checking for cavities?”
