“You can kiss the bride.”

Rick kissed his bride and hugged his children, then thanked and hugged his mother, and his in-laws who’d stood aswitnesses.

“Let’s go home to celebrate.”

Maria had set the dining room table with an embroidered tablecloth, crystal glasses, and silver. Rick opened a bottle of champagne and poured the bubbly for the adults and soda for the children.

“To my beautiful bride who taught me the meaning of love.”

After they toasted, Mark pulled his father’s sleeve. “Dad, Mickey and me, we want to make a toast.”

Rick nodded. “Go ahead, buddies,” and the adults smiled.

The boys raised their glasses of punch “Thank you, Dad, for giving us a nice new mom. To our Mom.”

Madison hugged her two boys and toasted, “To my loving husband and children.” Joy filled her heart and tears of happiness brimmed in her eyes as she added, “May we always be happy together.”
