“Have you made a list?” she asked.

“I haven’t been able to! I’m too conflicted.”

Michelle blinked in surprise. “Seriously? You’re always making lists. It’s, like, your thing.”

I nodded unhappily.

“Wow,” she said. “Okay, you really are love-struck. Let’s make a list right now. I’ll help you. One man at a time. We’ll start with Jude Cauthon. What are the pros to choosing him?”

I took a deep breath. “He’s cute. He’s nerdy, like me. He’s super intelligent. I’ve learned so much from working with him. I know I’ll keep learning, too.”

“Good. Now the cons list.”

“He’s my direct boss,” I said sadly. “I report to him. It’s wrong, and it will look bad if it ever gets out. There’s no way around that unless one of us leaves the company.”

“That’s a big one,” Michelle admitted. “Okay, next. Owen March. Pros?”

I smiled as I thought of the man upstairs. “He’s gorgeous. Powerful. He’s a leader, in a natural way. He’s confident.”

“When you met him, you called himcocky,” my sister pointed out.

“Yeah.” I leaned on the kitchen counter and sighed. “He’s cocky, and confident. Both. But now that I know him, therealhim, it’s not a turn-off. It’s hot.”

I expected her to laugh at that, but she only nodded. “And the cons?”

“The same as Jude, but a little less so. He’s not mydirectboss, but he’s still above me in the org chart. It’s problematic, especially nowadays. He’s also shown a little bit of jealousy over Furio, although he wasn’t wrong to feel that way. Oh, and Jocelyn.”

“Who’s Jocelyn?”

“This woman he went to school with. She owns a tech company, and we saw her at the basketball game the other night. I’m pretty sure she’s trying to sleep with him. And the way she looks? I’m afraid he eventually will.”

“Has he shown any interest in her? Flirting?”

I shook my head. “Not yet. He says he’s not interested in her. But if I keep dating all three of them, and can’t commit to Owen… Why would he stay with me when he could have her all to himself?”

Michelle smiled sadly at me, and waited for me to collect myself before going on. “Last, but not least. Furio. The Italian James Bond.”

“It’s not helping when you give them nicknames.”

“Stop delaying and give me his pros.”

“Fine. He’s dreamy. Like Italian royalty. He’s also sweet, and loving, and he dotes over me like I’m the love of his life. When I’m with him, I feeldifferent. In a good way, if that makes sense.”

She nodded and said, “Cons?”

“He lives on the other side of the world, for one thing,” I muttered. “Long distance relationships suck. It’s easy right now, while I have Owen and Jude to tide me over. But if I wasonlywith him? I wouldn’t be able to do it. And I certainly don’t want to move to Italy any time soon. Maybe not ever.”

“Would he be willing to move here?”

“I don’t know,” I replied. “Maybe. But I don’t want to make him do something he doesn’t want to do.”

Michelle stared off, lost in thought. After a long moment, she shrugged her shoulders. “Yep, you’re right. This is tough.”

“I know it’s tough! You’re supposed to help me decide!”

“You can always give one of them to me,” she said. “You know what? Since I’m such a good sister, I’ll taketwoof them from you. You’re welcome.”

I pretended like I was going to chuck my empty glass at her. She stuck out her tongue at me.
