I lowered the paper slowly. “Furio, I’m not ready to leave my position at ACS.”

“Even after the Initial Public Offering next week?” he asked.

“Even after the IPO, yes. I love my career there. I don’t want it to end. Not any time soon.”

I steeled myself for his disappointment. Had he decided that he no longer wanted to share me, and didn’t want to suffer a long-distance relationship? Was he going to give me an ultimatum here?

But he only laughed, and pulled me on top of his chest. “I knew you would decline. But I had to offer anyway.”

“You’re not upset that I don’t want to move?”

He shook his head. “I do not want you to do anything that would jeopardize your happiness. And we are quite happy indeed at the present time. But you cannot blame me for trying! And I will continue making offers every so often, and the number may go up.”

I saw the love in his eyes, and the acceptance of my response. Maybe he was a little disappointed, but hedidrespect my desire to stay here.

I kissed him on the cheek and stared down into his eyes. “You can keep offering all you want. As long as you’re okay with me saying no.”

His fingers slid into my hair, tightening into a possessive fist. “Who knows? Eventually, you may say yes.”

“And if I don’t?”

“Then perhaps I will move to California instead.”

Furio pulled me into a rough kiss, and then I forgot all about the job offer.

Juggling my three boyfriends proved easier than I expected. I had thought it might get tougher as time went on, but that wasn’t the case at all. If anything, it became easier.

The jealousy that had bothered Owen last year had given way to a grudging respect. He and Furio still occasionally made comments about wanting to keep me all to themselves, and Furio even went so far as to make a joke about hiring Italian hitmen to get rid of the other two, but the jokes were all made in good fun. Soon, Furio and Owen were good friends—not as friendly as Owen and Jude were, but not that far behind.

One night, while Owen was in New York, Furio and I were hanging out at Jude’s apartment. The three of us were discussing the specifics of the upcoming IPO while eating Chinese takeout and a bottle of very expensive scotch that Furio had brought with him.

“Have you ever considered sex… with many of us?” Furio randomly asked. “Together?”

I almost spat out my scotch.

Jude answered for me. “We have done that with her before. Me and Owen.”

“Truly?” Furio asked.

I cut my eyes toward the Italian man in the silky button-down. He was fine with a lot of aspects of this strange four-way relationship, but I didn’t know how he would feel about this. There was a big jump from sharing a woman privately to knowing that she was sharedjointlyby the others.

“And you enjoy this?” he asked me.

“I do. Very much.” I bit my lip while waiting for his reaction.

Furio thought about this for a few moments, then nodded. “Very good, then. I will do this too!” And he immediately stood and removed his shirt.

“Really? Right now?” I asked.

“I do not see why not,” he said, unbuckling his belt. “Would you like me to kiss Jude as well?”

“No!” Jude and I both blurted out at the same time. We looked at each other, and then Jude said, “We, uh, focus only on Amber. We keep a respectful distance from each other during…it.”

Furio nodded like he would have been fine either way. “Very well. I shall give you plenty of space. Come!”

He took me by the hand and led me into the bedroom, and then he spent the next hour proving that he was more than justfinewith sharing me with the other men. He enjoyed it just as much as I did.
