I can’t deny it anymore... I’ve fallen so damn hard for this man. I can’t imagine my life without him. I would do anything for him.

It’s obvious to me, and when I look into his eyes, I feel like he’s in the same boat with me. It was in the way he cuddled me all night after I was hurt and in the way he’s sweetly babied me the past three days.

Even this afternoon, he’s babying me. I’m sitting in his office, waiting on him, eager to strip down and climb beneath his desk to give him pleasure however he’d like. Although at this point, I know exactly how he likes it.

It’s naughty, and I imagine to my former college friends, the idea of kneeling in the space underneath a man’s desk to give him a blowjob would be ‘humiliating’, ‘demeaning’, or ... perhaps it turns them on too. Maybe they’d find it kinky like I do. Maybe not.

I don’t know and I don’t give a fuck.

Knowing how much Gabriel wants me is powerful. Knowing that he told me to hold off because he’s out getting me ‘something nice’ to wear for this afternoon and evening. More than likely, it’ll be lingerie. Gabriel loves when I wear lacy lingerie. Other than when I’m working out, he wants me in designer pieces from France and Italy. He spends a fortune on it. These boxes come with spritzed tissue paper and delicate pieces he tears easily.

My gaze stays on the office door, waiting for him as patiently as I can, although I’m needier than I’ve been in months. I’ve never had patience, and I think he does this to tease me.

Shock sparks through me when there’s a knock on the door. I don’t say a damn word. It’s not my office. Not my place. So I sit as still as can be in his office chair.

Again, there’s a knock and I ... second-guess myself. Thinking maybe he wants to role play? I don’t know. It could be him, maybe? Curious, I’m slow to get up and walk over to open the door. The moment I do, I wish I hadn’t. My heart pounds as I see a broad-shouldered man in a business suit. He looks... semi-familiar.

Swallowing thickly, I greet him, ever conscious of the contrast between his suit and my simple deep red sweaterdress. Thankfully, it’s not too short. Still, under his gaze, I feel uncomfortable.

“Can I help you?”

The man chuckles, nodding. “Hello, Kiersten. Nice to finally meet you face to face, so to speak.”

I tilt my head, immediately on edge. My heart hammers, and I wonder if this man and I have ever engaged in anything. I clear my throat and offer a tight smile, but not overly friendly. One that is kind enough, but not exactly welcoming.

“You have me at an advantage,” I press for his name.

“I do,” he says cockily and takes a partial step forward. I take a small one back as my heart beats a little harder.

“I’m sorry, are you... Joshua?” I know all about Gabe’s best friend, but I’ve never met him.

“No,” the man replies, stepping in completely and forcing me back into the office. “I’m looking for Gabriel.”

He pauses in the middle of the office, turning to look me up and down. It’s clear after a moment that he’s heard about me, and for the first time in a long time, I flush, not with desire but embarrassment.

I know Gabriel calls me his ‘whore’, but this man’s looking at me like I really am one. It’s been months since the incident, and ever since then, neither Gabe nor I have been interested in poker nights. I’ve wondered if it made his associates unhappy, and Gabriel assured me that it hadn’t and that they understand. This man, though... I just don’t like the way he’s staring at me. As I back up, my ass hits the desk and my hands instinctively brace myself, gripping its sharp edge.

“I’m sorry, Gabriel’s out for a bit,” I reply, trying to keep my voice strong. “Mr....?” My palms turn clammy, and my gaze flicks back to the door, praying Gabriel will stride through it. There’s a feeling I can’t shake. I don’t want to be alone with this man.

I never want to be alone with him.

“Ivan,” he says, taking a step toward me. But before he can say anything or move closer, the door opens again and Gabriel comes in.

“Gabriel!” I exclaim, and he glances at me before looking at Ivan in surprise. “Uhm, Mr. Ivan just arrived. He wasn’t expecting me to be here.” I’ve never felt such a swell of relief. My hands are nearly shaking.

I just called Gabriel’s visitor ‘Mr. Ivan’ like that’s his last name. Not only that, but my tone is pitched and high. It’s foolish, I know, but the words escape me before I can stop them. Gabriel doesn’t even glance at me, making me laugh nervously. I feel like I’m between two bulls that are about to rush at each other, smashing whatever happens to be in the way.

“Sorry, Ivan . . . Umm, Ivan–”

“That’s fine, Kiersten,” Gabriel says, keeping his eyes locked on Ivan. “Are you okay?”

“Yes, fine,” I reply, stepping to my right toward the windows and out of the way.

Gabriel steps forward, putting himself between me and Ivan, and I immediately feel safer, more secure. “I don’t believe we had a meeting scheduled, did we?” he questions Ivan, a slight menace in his connotation.

Ivan squares up with him, and while their fists aren’t balled or anything, I can feel the tension cracking through the air.Who the hell is this man, and what is between him and Gabriel?

“No, I dropped in for a conversation,” Ivan says easily, smirking slightly. “I think you’d like to hear what I have to say. It’s important to your interests.”
