I snicker, fanning out my napkin, then placing it on my lap. “Not really, I had Cora teach me the basics like hello, thank you, stuff like that.”

“The way the words rolled off your tongue, I’m sure we could have you speaking it in no time,” he says with a heated gaze.

“Are you offering to be my teacher?” I flirt back, putting my elbow on the table, then resting my chin on the back of my hand.

The sides of his mouth curl up as he leans in over the table. “I would love to be your teacher.”

Oh, shit. Did Jonas turn the heat up in here because my body temperature has quickly risen. I clearly know Yiorgos’ statement meant more than just him teaching me how to speak his native language, however two can play that game.

Leaning in, “Then teach meeverythingyou know,” I say with a seductive grin.

We gaze into each other eyes until Yiorgos chuckles, sitting back. “In time Ms. Lowe, in time but for now let’s enjoy our meal before it gets cold.”

Smiling, I move back, then pick up the container of tzatziki sauce and pour it over my gyro. Yiorgos takes it from me when I hand it to him and does the same. Once he’s done, I wait for him to take the first bite. When he does, he hums with approval.

“Just like home,” he compliments before taking another bite.

We spent the next hour talking more about our families and businesses while eating. For someone who has a ‘don’t fuck with me exterior,’ Yiorgos is a cool guy once you get to know him. Not to mention he is sexy as hell to look at. I caught myself several times imagining what was under his suit.

When we were through with our meal, Jonas came to the table and told us everything was on the house. Cora even gave each of us a bag that had a to-go box containing another gyro sandwich plate. We thanked them both. Me, especially because I didn’t have to worry about cooking dinner later.

As we stood to leave, Yiorgos shook Jonas’ hand as he told him he will bring his brother the next time he comes back. Jonas nodded with a smile and told Yiorgos to make sure he gives his Uncle Sebastian regards from him and Cora. Yiorgos agreed, then gave Cora a hug before we left.

“Do you need a ride back to the bookstore?” Yiorgos asked once we were outside.

“No, my cars right there,” I replied, pointing to the black Honda Accord.

“Okay,” he returned, sounding a little disappointed. “Come, let me walk you to it.”

He placed his hand on the small of my back as we started walking to my car. I dug in my pocket for my key fob, then unlocked my doors. I shook my head as a woman walked past us, damn near drooling over Yiorgos. Call me petty but I secretly hoped one of her heels got caught in a crack on the sidewalk.

“Thank you for inviting me to lunch. If you hadn’t, I’d probably still be at the bookstore working through my lunch hour,” I stated once we reached my vehicle.

He took my hand in his. “You’re welcome and I’m happy you accepted. I hope we’ll be able to do this again and perhaps dinner.”

“I would like that,” I grinned.

Using his free hand, Yiorgos reached into his pocket and pulled out his cellphone. “Can I have your phone number.”

“You have my number,” I joked, batting my eyelashes.

“I know I have the number to the bookstore; however, I want your cellphone number as well,” he stated.

“Okay,” I smiled, before calling out the numbers.

“Thank you,” he said, locking my number in his contacts, which I happened to see he put under ‘Kitten.’ What was up with that? Next, he called my phone. When it started to ring, he informed, “That’s my number.”

After saving his number, Yiorgos kissed the back of my hand before saying, “I’ll be in touch soon.”

“Please do,” I whispered.

Yiorgos let my hand go, then opened my door. “Enjoy the rest of your day, Deanna.”

“You do the same, Yiorgos,” I told him as I slid into the driver’s seat.

He gave me a wink with that killer smile before closing the door. I started my car, then waved goodbye before merging into traffic with the handsome Greek on my mind.

I arrived back to the bookstore on cloud nine but got knocked off of it when I saw Lena stooped down, picking books up off the floor.
