Dexter swipes a tattooed hand over his face. "I guess I'm slower on the uptake than usual, because I've got no fucking clue what your problem with me is."

"You treat her like shit," I say.

My level of disgust is reaching dangerous levels.

Dexter's got a few inches in height on me, but he's a skinny fuck. I could take him.

Ifhe says who right now… I can't be held responsible for my actions. It's that simple.

Do not punch the skinny rock star in the face. The kid would be unhappy if you fuck up her friend.

"Who?" Dexter scoffs.

"Who the fuck do you think?" I growl, taking a step into his personal space and clenching my fists at my sides. This fuckingguykills me. "Love McKinley." Shaking my head, I sigh. "Fuck. You'resuchan asshole."

"Baby?" Dex takes a step back. His head bounces against the wall. "Why would you say that?" he asks, confusion written all over his face.

"Are you playing dumb right now? I can't decide if you're the most oblivious motherfucker on the planet or if you're playing games."

"Dude, you've got the wrong idea," Dexter says, shaking his head. "She's in love withIssac, not me." He spits out the last few words.

"Why do you think that is?" I taunt.

I give him a look like, think that shit through, dumbass.

This guy, I swear. No one is this fucking clueless.

Dumber than a box of rocks.

"Fuck you," Dex scowls. "You think…" He crosses his arms over his chest. "You know what? Fuck off." He stomps away, back over to the blond tool in cowboy boots.

Shaking my head, I sigh at the ceiling.

"You shouldn't get involved," Walker says softly as he makes his way over to me. "Nothing good can come from getting involved in their business."

"It might be his fucking kid," I hiss, keeping my voice down.

"Yeah, you told me that," Walker says, frowning. "I agree it's shitty, but what it's not isour business."

I did tell him, but that was before McKinley made it clear that information isn't widely known.

How the hell was I supposed to know? She wouldn't put her damn tits away, and looked at me likeIwas the problem.

Of course, I regurgitated the details to Walker as soon as we were alone.

Dealing with rock stars and apparentlyanyonein their inner circle is weird.

Still…

"I don't like watching women be disrespected." I shake my head. "Don't act like you do either."

"No, of course not," Walker says, frowning over at Dexter. "I've known guys like that before. He's got such low self-esteem he seeks validation and attention from sexual partners. Only, that fulfillment is fleeting."

Yeah, I am not touching that with a ten foot-pole.

It's not long after that shit hits the fan, but that's an entirely different story.
