“So, what now?”

“We meet your fiancé and your new in-laws.”

I tucked my arm into Tyler’s. “Lead the way.”

“See, I knew you’d ditch me for him,” Evan said.

I glanced over my shoulder. “You want to lead this crazy circus?”

“Not a chance. Ty can do the honors.”

“Thanks, asshole.”

“No, that’s what they call her new fiancé.”

God, I loved my family. No one outside of our circle of seven would believe my brothers and father were anything other than all-business, never-laughing, will-punch-you-in-the-face-rather-than-talk-to-you men. When in reality, they were fun-loving and complete morons half the time. Well, Papa wasn’t, but my brothers, definitely.

As we made our way in Simon’s direction, he separated from the group of people around him and moved toward me.

He watched me with almost a methodological fashion, as if I was something he had to figure out.

When I neared, the slight way he licked his lips caused my pulse to jump and my breath to grow shallow as I remembered what his wicked mouth had done to me on my kitchen counter this morning.

Fuck. This man had blackmailed me into sex, and now I’d become addicted. What a head trip.

When we stopped with only a foot between the two of us, his lips curved slightly when he said, “Hello, Olympia.”

I narrowed my eyes, knowing he was fucking with me.

“My name is Nyx, asshole.”

Tyler coughed, and I could almost hear my other brothers groan behind me, mixed with my parents’ mortification.

Simon took my hand, drawing me closer to him, not caring this wasn’t proper behavior.

Leaning in as if to kiss my cheek, he whispered, “I will pay you back for that, Goddess.”

“You started it.”

“There are still consequences.”

“You’ll have to make it past the guards on the property and around my cottage to do anything.”

“Challenge accepted.” He brushed his lips against my cheek, allowing the stubble of his beard to brush my jaw just a fraction and causing a shiver to slide down my spine.

He offered me his elbow.

After I slipped my arm into his and turned, he spoke in a tone only meant for my ears. “Time to make it official. Then, later tonight, you’ll apologize for calling me an asshole in front of our families.”

“It’s good to keep hope alive.” I glanced up at him with a smirk.

That was when I noticed my brothers all watching me as they followed behind us, curiosity and complete fascination etched on their faces.

My heartbeat accelerated.

I increased my pace, forcing Simon to keep up and put some distance between us and my family.

“Problem?” Simon asked with a little humor in his tone.
