He remained quiet for a moment, then asked, “Can I assume this isn’t going to be in public?”

“We need to be alone.” A lump formed in my throat. “For what I have to tell you, it’s the best.”

“For you or me?”

“Both of us.”

“I see.”

“No. You don’t have a clue.”

“Now, I’m intrigued. I suppose you’re going to meet Joshi for casino night at the Andhi tonight?”

“How do you know my schedule?”

“I know everything about you, Highness. Will the Andhi Hotel work?”

“Yes.”

“Meet me in the theatre dressing lounge. It’s always locked, but I’m sure you’ll find a way inside.”

“Ready to drop the hammer?”Nik asked as he rocked back in his chair next to me.

We sat in the palatial conference room of Rawal, Zane & Mitchell, the law firm Jesika Rawal managed with her partners. As a favor, she’d granted us space to conduct our meeting today, which gave us anonymity when it came to getting our prey to the table.

“This is but one piece of the puzzle. No need to drop any hammer when things implode on their own.” I scrolled through the stocks on my phone. “Besides, we have a meeting before that one to clear.”

“If Jay and Dani catch wind of this, they will have our balls.” Kir shot Nik a warning glance.

Today, I’d call in debts for a group who had no idea I’d purchased their outstanding loans for properties they’d never developed.

Typically, the debt-collector role in the company fell to Kir as the enforcer of King Holdings. But since this group had a personal connection to me and, therefore, the entire King family, all four brothers were in house.

This connection dated back to the fateful day I’d met Nik and Kir. The day I’d become so desperate to find a safe place to stay, I’d believed a nice couple who’d offered me a sanctuary.

It had never sat well with Arin that I was the only one of the four of us targeted by the group for kidnapping. He’d researched and eventually traced the building owners to a person tied to Shah and Joshi. In our world, there were no coincidences, especially when removing the evidence of crimes. And I was the most significant proof of Shah’s crimes.

“Separation of church and state,” Rey interjected. “They know the rules. We don’t interfere in their business, and they don’t get involved in ours.”

“Says the man who tells his wife every-fucking-thing.” I smirked.

“Considering her former line of work, you can’t hide anything from her. So you might as well come clean from the beginning. Besides, she helps watch our backs as much as Dani does.”

Rey’s words weren’t an understatement. King Holdings’ interests remained under lock and key between Danika and Lilly. Two internationally wanted hackers with skills to boggle the mind came in handy, especially when protecting the information we wanted kept secured from the world.

“Which of us is going to take the lead?” Kir’s focus landed on me.

Nik answered, “This is Sam’s field of expertise. Let him handle it.”

“Like he handled the club the other night?” Rey lifted a brow. “The cleaning bill for one night seemed higher than normal.”

My lips curved as I remembered the way Devani and I had separated after fucking each other’s brains out.

We’d barely caught our breaths before she pushed me back and said she planned to go home. The intensity of what we’d shared had left her raw, and her instincts pushed her to run. So I let her. Though before she opened the door, I took her wrist and clasped the cuff back into place. She knew what it meant, whether she wanted to admit it or not.
