“I love it here, so I hope we come back a lot, too,” she said.

“Good. Come here, mate.”

She stood and slowly took off the shirt she wore and dropped it on the floor before she slid onto his lap, with her legs on either side of his hips and facing him. Her arms wrapped around his neck.

“I’m here. Now, what are you going to do about it?” she asked and grinned.

A squeal burst from her when Blake growled, lifted her, adjusted his cock, and then pulled her down on top of it until it filled her to the brink.

The hunger for him never stopped and seemed to only grow over time. She would have been anxious about it if it hadn’t felt so right.

He continued to lift and drag her down on his hard cock. She couldn’t help the shivers that raced over her body as he whispered the things he wanted to do to her. The storm of desire he built in her quickly passed, leaving her draped over his chest and gasping for breath.

“Jesus Christ, mate. Every time is better than the last. We’re going to burn each other up but in a good way.”

“I’m glad it’s in a good way,” she murmured against his neck. “Although it would be a good way to die.”

He stilled, gripped her hair, and pulled her head back so she could see his face. Her breath caught at the pain she saw.

“What?” she asked.

“Don’t ever say that again.”

Simone hated his raspy pain-filled tone. She cupped his face in her hands. “Tell me what I said to upset you this much?”

“I don’t want you to ever talk about dying. Do you understand?”

She pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. “I’m sorry. I promise never to say anything like that again, now that I know it upsets you.”

“Good, because if I think about losing you, it makes me crazy. Fuck, if it did happen … I can’t even say it, but I won’t go on without you.”

At that moment, she understood what he was getting at when she thought about him not being on earth with her anymore. She couldn’t help the tears that slid down her cheeks.

He cupped her face. “Hey, it’s okay. We’re together and healthy, and I’ll do everything in my power to keep you that way and safe from harm.”

She tucked her face against his neck and breathed him in. “And I’ll always be here to care for you and make you as happy as possible.”

“Baby, if I get any more content, I’ll float away.”

She chuckled.

“How about I bathe you and then feed you?”

She kissed him. “Yes, mate.”

“Jesus, woman, you’re going to drive me insane with happiness.”

“Good, we can go crazy together.”

She thought about how their life would go on for decades, but she still didn’t think that was enough. She’d just have to make whatever time they had as magical as possible.

Chapter Ten

A few days later, Blake felt his stomach cramp with anxiety the closer they drove to town. He was glad she kept her hand in his the whole time because he was barely holding back the urge to turn around and head back to their cave.

When they’d walked to the small country store where he got supplies and kept his truck in a garage behind the store, he almost wished the truck wouldn’t start.

“It’s going to be okay. I promise,” Simone said.
