"Small? Yes, Sienna. That's the important thing about alcohol. It's the quantity that brings respect to the quality of the liquor and the person taking it," she lectured me just like when I was still in high school and when I was with her after classes.

"Ohh?" Did I know what she was talking about? Of course. Did I care? Not in the slightest.

...

I mean...I did, but it wasn't enough to satisfy the crave I now felt inside me.

Now, as I unscrewed the cap over the lid and unsheathed the aroma of flavored sterility, I felt a wave of need sweep through my tongue and the thirst I knew wouldn't be quenched plagued my entire throat.

"Aaand she's drinking again." His voice was enough to put me in an offset mood. "Mama, you're here. You're supposed to stop her." He approached me and snatched the bottle from my hand.

I didn't let him get far. Before he even recoiled his hands, mine was back on the bottle and I dispossessed him of it but not without some precious droplets of liquid spilling out of the bottle and dropping unhappily on the tiled ground.

Bulleit would scream at me for this.

"What do you want, Alessandro?" I scowled at him.

"For you to stop being a flaming alcoholic," he stated plainly.

"Alessandro! Be nice," his mother scolded him.

"It's not about being nice, Mama. It's about setting a proper example." He then turned to me. "You have someone that looks up to you now, Sienna. Someone that will do everything that you do at a whim simply because 'mama does it.’"

"What are you driving at Alessandro? Artemis hardly ever sees me drunk. I will make sure of that."

"She's going to, someday. Heck she probably already has more than once already. You're damaging the poor kid. She doesn't deserve this kind of..." he stopped.

"Kind of mother?" I prodded him.

"I... I was going to say example, but..."

"Yeah... example...from a mother...same thing as she not deserving me," I scowled and moved challengingly close to him, looking him as much in the eye as my five-eleven could his six- something.

"It doesn't... example and mother aren't..." He gave up when I moved so close to him, my hair would've entered his mouth if he said another word.

"Okay... would you stop doing this? I'm trying to have an adult conversation." He pushed me a good distance away from him gently.

Firmly, I must add but otherwise gently.

"Oh, really?" I widened my eyes. "Let's have an adult conversation then."

"Good."

"Yeah, so how good an example do you want me to lead?"

"A very good one. Manageable at least. Let's start there."

"Good." I strolled over to take a seat on a high stool in the mini bar. "How good an example do you think you've been leading?"

He opened his mouth to talk, but I quickly shut him up with my interruption.

"Ohh, that's right, you can't tell, cause you haven't even been in her life for half the amount of time she's been in the womb for," I said plainly and seemingly unemotional.

"That's..." he started to say again but I wasn't finished. I started with a high tone to prevail my voice over his.

"You haven't been around my entire life...or even Artemis's, so stop acting like you really care," I jabbed my words at him.

"I do care Sienna."
