“CONGRATULATIONS!” everyone shouted and clapped, catching us off guard when we stepped inside.

“What the—” Jackson grinned.

“Oh, my God!” I placed my hand over my mouth in shock.

“You didn’t think we wouldn’t celebrate your engagement, did you?” Julia hugged me.

“We’ve been planning this since Jackson proposed.” Emilia smiled as she hugged me.

“Welcome to the Kind Brewhouse!” Sebastian grinned as he handed Jackson and me a glass of champagne.

“We wanted to do it before I opened the doors to the public. I hope you’re hungry because we have a whole lot of food coming up.” He hugged me.

“The Brewhouse looks amazing.” I grinned. “This place is going to do really well,” I said to him.

“Thanks, Georgia. I hope so. Emilia and I talked, so let me know whatever you need me to do. Having a baby with her is the most important thing in my life right now. Not this, not the other restaurants, just her.”

“I know, Sebastian.” I placed my hand on his chest. “It’s going to happen. Don’t worry. Like I told Emilia, the more you stress about it, the harder it’s going to be. We’ll see what happens once I do her procedure.”

“Sebastian, get over here!” Simon shouted.

“Thank you, Georgia. I’ll talk to you later.” He kissed my cheek and walked away.

“What was that all about?” Jackson walked over to me.

“He and Emilia are trying to get pregnant, and it’s not happening. He’ll tell you guys all about it. I’m doing a laparotomy on her next week.”

“And you’re just telling me this now?” Jackson’s brows furrowed.

“Doctor/patient confidentiality, Dr. Kind. Rules still apply to family.” I reached up and kissed his lips. “I’m going to talk to the girls. I love you.”

“I love you too, babe.” He chuckled.

CHAPTER26

Jackson

“So, I heard you’re doing Ian’s surgery,” Simon said as we all stood at the bar, talking.

“Yeah. Dr. Finn and I are doing it together. The risks far outweigh anything else, and honestly, I’m scared.”

“Bro, he agreed to it.” Nathan placed his hand on my shoulder. “It’s his choice. You’re only doing what he wants you to do.”

“And if something happens on the table or he comes out of it with deficits so severe that he’ll wish he was dead?”

“He knows the risks,” Conner said.

I threw back my scotch and set my glass on the bar for another.

“Ah, shit. No, she didn’t.” Simon shook his head as he stared at the door.

Turning around, I saw Aunt Barb and Ian walk in.

“You better fucking behave yourself,” Sam sternly spoke to Simon.

“Boys.” Barb walked over with her arm tucked around Ian’s. I’d like you to meet your Uncle Ian. Ian, these are my sons. Sam, Stefan, Sebastian, Shaun.” She smiled, “And Simon. These are my nephews, Conner, Christian, and Nathan.”

“Hello, boys. It’s good to meet you finally,” he spoke, all choked up as tears swelled in his eyes.
