Colton freezes. "Didn't know you were here."

Kalim points to the chair, ordering, "Sit."

Colton's eyes drift between us. He sits, tapping his fingertips together. He asks, "Why do I feel like I'm in school and in trouble?"

I sit behind the desk, and Kalim takes the chair next to Colton. I assert, "There's some sensitive information we need to discuss, but it has to stay here."

Colton's face turns white. He puts his hand over his mouth. "He did something to Blakely she didn't tell me about?"

My stomach churns, thinking about how close she came to something much worse happening to her.

Kalim clears his throat. "No. However, there are things we've decided to talk to you about, and you're never to discuss them outside of this room. Understand?"

He arches his eyebrows. "Okay."

I toss a yellow envelope at him.

"What's this?" he questions.

I sit back in my chair, answering, "The footage Noah had on you. And all the digital footprints have been erased."

Colton gapes, then asks, "How—"

"Don't ask," Kalim answers.

Colton grips the envelope, staring at it.

I add, "There's going to be a lot of discussion about the whereabouts of Noah and Blakely's father, Hugh. You're going to do your part."

Colton squints. He tilts his head, questioning, "And what would that be?"

"You're going to call Noah daily for a month. Then, you're going to create a media stink about not having access to your agent," I inform him.

"And why would I do that?"

"Because you aren't ever going to hear from him again."

Shock fills Colton's expression. Goose bumps break out on his arms. He leans closer, asking, "Are you saying—"

"We're saying that you're going to express your disappointment in the lack of effort by your agent and file a lawsuit that he's in breach of his contract."

Colton sits back and presses his fingertips together again, inquiring, "What is the point of doing this?"

"So Blakely isn't the only one," I relay.

Colton runs his hand through his hair. "And why are we doing this? What am I missing?"

I rise and go around the desk. I sit on it and cross my arms. "So you can switch agents and it looks legit."

Colton stays quiet.

I continue, "This is what's going to happen. I will work with Ears to find an agent I approve of to represent you and Blakely. I'll handle the contracts and negotiate a fair deal. I'll also sue Noah's company for the rights to your backlist of songs, and since there won't be anyone to fight it, you're going to win."

Colton swallows hard. He slowly asks, "So I'll have ownership of them?"

"If my attorneys have their way in court, yes."

"And if not?"
