She follows me into the large space where I have a deep soaking tub and shower big enough for four people to get inside together. I’m already picturing out the ways we can make use of all this space.

“What do you mean?” she asks as she sits on the toilet to use the bathroom in front of me. She’s so comfortable around me, and it’s more than disarming. I like how comfortable she is with me. It means she feels safe, and damn it if that doesn’t make me feel good..

“No condom.” I shake my head and look at myself in the mirror. I can see her shrug it off in the reflection.

“I’m on the shot, and you’re the first. So we’re all good on my end.”

I let the sigh of relief out as I splash some cold water on my face. “I test myself regularly as the face of Burnz and Earnz. At least, we don’t have to worry about that.”

“I do have a question,” she says and I meet her gaze through the mirror.

“What’s that?”

“How soon can we do it again, Daddy?”

Why the fuck have I been saving my virginity if sex feels this good?! Oh, I know why. It’s because of him.

Declan warned me, and he’s right. I’m thoroughly addicted to him.

My heart can’t stop thudding against my chest. My pussy’s walls are aching to feel him inside again. I finish cleaning myself up but Declan’s already back in the kitchen fixing himself a plate of food.

I’m not sure what I should do, but when I see a plate made for me, I sit down at the island across from him.

“You never told me what you found on this,” he says, pointing to the flash drive.

I want to lose myself in the savory stew, warming me from the inside out, but Declan’s all business like we didn’t just have an explosive round of extraordinary sex. Maybe it wasn’t as extraordinary to him as it was to me. I can feel the high of our moment together waning.

“Um, it’s just a discrepancy I found in some of the sales reports. I haven’t had a chance to check the independent sources to confirm exactly why the numbers look funky to me, but I made a note of each transaction and plan on following up tomorrow.”

I finish the food and begin to get myself together to leave. I have to get back home if I’m going to get some sleep and dream about this amazing night.

“There’s a car waiting for you downstairs,” Declan states matter-of-factly, and it baffles me why he’s avoiding my eyes. The Declan I know is confident, arrogant even, but this one in front of me seems almost…unsure of himself.

I let out a huff as I steel myself to head home. By the time the car gets me home, Dalia’s asleep on the couch. My shower and bedroom wait for me where after I wash away Declan’s scent. I can still feel the pressure of his touch against my skin. The way his body moves writhing above me as he brings me to orgasm after orgasm.

At least, he’s shown himself to be worth the precious gift given to him. He’s wrong about one thing—I don’t regret offering myself to him. Not one bit. I replay the scenes in my mind, and if I could turn back time, I’d still choose him.

I asked him how long it would be before we could do it again. He simply grinned at me and walked out of the bathroom.

I can’t believe I’m letting Declan occupy my mind so much. It’s supposed to be just sex. It wasn’t supposed to be this, this, this good!

Instead of waiting for sleep to find me, I crack open one of my accounting textbooks to tackle some assignments due in the coming week. It doesn’t take long for the principles of cost accounting to help me shut my eyes.

When I wake up the next morning, evidence of Declan remains as soreness consumes the space between my thighs. I have to walk around all day feeling like he’s still inside of me.

There’s a pot of coffee waiting in the kitchen, and Dalia’s already out of the apartment. She left a jar of aspirin on the counter for me, and after I swallow two pills, I head to work.

The elevator is in full operation as I turn on executive assistant mode. I nod a greeting to Mrs. Perry who grunts one in return. I truly don’t know what her problem is. When I get to the desk, I see the flash drive I left for Declan back on my desk. I can’t help but look around to see where he is as his office is empty.

A text message comes through from Declan:

Good morning, Miss Meyers. Your work shows promise. Please continue on the assignment.

My work shows promise? That’s saying there’s something wrong with it. I can’t let that sit. I need to know what I can do to improve. While my head works around what exactly to say to Declan, I get his coffee and set him up for his day.
