“We know where your man is, shower and change and we’ll take you to him but you need to hurry, Carlina!” I’m on my feet in an instant and barging past the three of them. I strip off my disgusting sleepwear I have been wearing for days as I go. I hear them laugh behind me but I don’t give a fuck. I’m getting my man back and that’s all that matters.

After showering and changing at lightning speed the four of us race from the house and jump into Allison’s Range Rover. It feels weird to be clean, in fresh clothes and I even brushed my teeth. My hair is a wet unbrushed mess that is piled on top of my hair but I don’t give a shit, for the first time in weeks I feel something other than grief and pain.
“Where are we going?” Allison and Kiara gasp at the sound of my voice. Koby, who is sitting beside me in the back seat shoots me a wink. I like her already. She doesn’t bullshit or mince words, I like that.
“We’re going to get your man and clearly piss off three of your brothers.” I smirk a little, Allison is a badass. I didn’t think the girl had it in her but it’s good to see she can hold her own. She will need to because King is a pushy bastard.
“How did you find him?” I ask softly. Kiara leans around her seat so she can see me in the back, her eyes are filled with remorse.
“Bishop wouldn’t tell me anything when you first got back. He kept tight lipped about the whole thing. Ally tried to get information from King but he wouldn’t budge. Koby even tried to beat it out of Knight.” I turn to Koby with a smile on my face, she just shrugs her shoulders like it’s no big deal that she tried to kick my brother’s ass.
“He’s lucky I’m pregnant. If I wasn’t we both know I would have had him on his ass,” Koby snaps.
“Riiight,” Kiara and Ally say unison, earning a glare from Koby.
“So, how did you find out?” I prompt.
“Gage.” I cock my head to the side confused as to why she said his name. Kiara smiles sadly. “I know the guys don’t know him well, but I do. Ally and Koby are close with Gage as well. We didn’t even have to ask him to help us, Car. He got the shit beaten out of him for defying Bishop and not helping them put your man down.” I reel back in shock.
“What?”
“Gage said he could never hurt you like that and Bishop made him pay for defying his orders.” I can feel the anger radiating off of her. “Gage found the location where Vin is being held. He sent me the coordinates and created a diversion so he could distract Bish and the others while we go rescue your man.” A feeling of guilt washes over me. I haven’t exactly treated him like shit but I haven’t tried to get to know him or even make him feel welcome and yet, Gage is here trying to help me and paid for not getting involved. I vow to myself right here that I will do better, I will try to get to know my older brother and make him feel like one of us.

“It won’t work, you need to set the ambush and wait while they tuck tail and run!” I grit out. Bishop narrows his eyes at me. I glare right back at the asshole. He has no idea how to ambush and there is no fucking way I am going out there and risking my life for his dumb ass.
“What the fuck do you suggest then?” King pipes up beside his brother. I keep my gaze on the Don as I answer the underboss.
“Simple, you draw them both out with the promise of agreeing to a deal. You tell them that you want in on the skin trade. Once they are out in the open it will be as easy as picking them off one by fucking one.” King turns to side eye Bishop, but he ignores his brother keeping his focus on me.
“You get Pauly and Vinny to the meet and you keep up your end, you have my word I’ll give you what you want.” I grind my teeth and clench my fists at my sides to keep my anger in check, I didn’t go through all of this to lose the one thing I want most.
“She was never yours to begin with,” I grit out as I turn and head back toward the back of the warehouse where Knight sits with Luka. Both of them scour the web daily for any picture, video or any kind of evidence from the local police departments that may mention Rook. I’ve put through a fake job application through to the agency that employs me, I’m offering a fifteen million for the head of Rook Murdoch. I’ve had at least hundred people claim the job but none of them have been able to find Rook. I know how they feel losing a sibling and not knowing where they are or if they are even alive. That feeling consumes you daily and eats away at your soul every fucking second of every day.
“Any bites on the job?” Knight tries to hide his hope but the small spark in his eyes shows me he still has hope for his twin being alive. In all honestly, he could have been thrown into the ocean that night and dragged out to sea by the current. That is the most likely outcome but I won’t be the one to crush his hope because I’ve never lost hope that one day I will find Selena.
“Nah, man, not yet.” His eyes darken, he gives me a curt nod and goes back to work. I look to my left where I spot Bishop’s right hand man Mav. Something about him seems so fucking familiar and I just can’t fucking place where I know the guy from.
“They’re here!” I spin toward where Bishop and King stand around the table with blueprints spread out and their men standing with them to find Gage at the head of the table. His face is contorted with unease and worry, Bishop gets right in his face.
“Who?” he snarls, Gage cuts a quick glance to me before looking back to Bishop.
“The girls.” Bishop reels back, anger is evident in his features. Gage stands tall ready and waiting for Bishop to lose his shit.
"I fucking knew you would go running to them.” Gage doesn’t even look put out that he got caught. He tried to get Bishop and the others to go out and check out a bullshit sighting of Vinny. All I had to do was call Marco and check where Vinny was and that put an end to Gage’s plan. He came clean straight away. He and Bishop traded a few punches before we pulled them apart. “If this plan falls apart because of you, I’ll make you dig your own grave before I bury you in it.” I don’t get the tension between these two. King and Knight seem to be fine with Gage but Bishop holds a lot of resentment toward his half-brother.
“You know what, after everything I am about to do for this fucking family the least you could do is put your shit with me aside. I had no fucking idea who she was to you!” Gage yells.
“I told you to watch out for her, not fuck her!” Bishop roars as he gets right in Gage’s face. They both stand there, forehead to forehead vibrating with rage. I move forward to break them up but King places a hand on my shoulder shaking his head.
“They need to sort this shit now before he goes. Bishop needs to do this and Gage needs to hear it.” King speaks quietly so only I can hear him. I give a curt nod and watch the two brothers.
“She fucking needed me, you don’t get it. You weren’t fucking there, Bishop! She was broken and fucked up. You should have gone to her and not been a pussy hiding in the shadows watching from afar while I brought her back. I fucking brought her back from the hole she put herself in. Me, not you.” I can hear the anguish in Gage’s voice and that’s when it clicks. Gage slept with his brother’s fiancée.
“She wasn’t supposed to be brought into this. I wanted her to have a life before I came for her and you fucked it up.”
