Clearly not taking the hint, I stopped moving and tried to just push his hands off of me. Instead of getting the idea, the guy grabbed at my dress, trying to pull me closer.

“No, thanks,”I called over the music.

“Come on, pretty girl. Just a dance,”he said, but his fingers were dancing on my bare thigh and I knew he was thinking about a lot more than a dance.

“I said no,”I yelled more forcefully.

The guy just grinned at me, clearly intoxicated beyond the point of having any reason. The next time he stepped close, I allowed him to. But I quickly put into action one of my many practiced moves. Grabbing his neck to control his body, I slammed a knee up into his stomach. I felt the breath whoosh out of his mouth near my head and he stumbled back.

On instinct, I stepped back into a fighting stance, in case that hint was also not strong enough. The jerk rubbed at his stomach, his eyes wide as he gasped for air. We were still surrounded by dancers that had no idea what was going on, it had all happened so fast.

“Stupid bitch,”he said, though there was no sound, and I was only reading his lips.

He began to step forward, and I pivoted to avoid any attack he could launch. As I moved, I collided with a solid chest. Looking up, I found Gideon towering over me. He was flanked by two security members that looked like they had just fought through the crowd themselves. Gideon just looked as if he had appeared, out of thin air, to be by my side. Though, at the moment, his eyes weren’t on me.

The jerk, to his credit, realized quickly that he was in trouble. He was no larger than me, so Gideon’s towering form was intimidating. Jerk started to back up, his hands up. Gideondidn’t give him a chance to get away. His large arm snapped forward, easily reaching the guy’s collar. Gideon pulled the guy to his chest and then lifted him clear off his feet, with the jerk holding onto his arm for dear life.

“When I woman says no, that’s the end of it. When that woman is MINE, that’s the end of you.”

Gideon’s menacing voice was loud enough to be heard over the music, but he wasn’t yelling. I watched as the jerk went completely white. My mind whirled with the possibilities of what Gideon was meaning, causing me to step forward and touch his free arm. His angry gaze snapped to me, but as soon as it saw it was me, his face transformed into affection.

“I don’t think you need to beat every drunk guy that hits on me to a pulp, big guy. Maybe put him down?”I said.

Gideon seemed to consider my words and then turned and practically tossed the jerk to his security guards.

“86 him. Trespass if he returns to any of our clubs,”Gideon yelled.

The jerk started to sputter, becoming sober enough to realize that the judgement was fairly harsh. But he didn’t have a chance to speak, as one of the guards punched him in the solar plexus. I cringed, but didn’t have a chance to see them take him out, as Gideon grabbed me roughly. His hand came to my chin, forcing me to look up at him.

“You’re mine. I don’t let other men touch what’s mine,”he growled.

“Well, other than your brothers,”I replied.

“You know what I mean, Brooklyn,”he said, his voice laced with what sounded like his last nerve.

“I know, big guy. Can you kiss me now? That was hot,”I said, grabbing him by his jacket lapels.

As Gideon’s mouth crashed down on mine, I allowed the last fleeting thoughts to leave my mind. No, I didn’t want tobe controlled, told what I could and couldn’t do. And Gideon’s multiple declarations that I was his should have raised my hackles. So why was I melting under his touch, ready to take him back to the stairwell and climb up his body?

I let the confusion go, so I could just enjoy the feeling of Gideon. His lips against mine. His beard rubbing against the sensitive skin of my face. His hands on my hips, holding me tightly against him. His hardness I could feel against my stomach. I could feel myself getting hot and I wasn’t sure how long I would be able to last in the club without ripping off his clothes.

Gideon

I hadno idea where the caveman, she’s mine, attitude was coming from. When I saw Brooklyn fighting off the advances from the owner’s level, I practically jumped down the stairs. As I ran by, the VIP guards caught that something was wrong and they followed. Frank wasn’t far behind, tossing people out of the way until we were near Brooklyn.

The guy had just gotten more pissed as Brooklyn kneed him in the stomach, while even I could admit it was hot to see her doing it. The sick fear in me turned to rage as I saw the guy continue to stalk toward her. As soon as I had my hands on her, I could barely control myself. I wanted to pull her skirt up and bury myself in her, just to brand her as mine.

Brooklyn was fighting against me, every step of the way. I knew she understood it was about her safety, so she accepted most of the steps we’d taken. But even as timid as she thought she was, it was clear there was a fire inside that was ready to burn me alive if I went too far. And I loved each flame.

The music on the dance floor shifted again with“Whisper”by Able Heart playing and cheers from the crowd rising around us. Brooklyn pulled back from my kiss to smile up at me. She began to sway her hips and rubbed against me in all the right places. I wasn’t the best dancer, but I could press my body against hers and move as she did. Luckily for me, my girl didn’t seem to care.

She turned and threw an arm back to grab around my neck, pulling my face to her neck. I obliged and began to kiss and lick at her skin, feeling her tremble under my hands, that were splayed across her stomach. She released my neck, and I looked up to find my brothers making their way through the crowd. Oliver and Jaxon both stared at her, and she beckoned them forward with a finger.

Suddenly, Ash was next to her and I could hear only a part of the quick conversation.
