Her nipples were hard just from the neutral press of his palms, and a soft, sleepy moan came from her lips when he applied a bit more pressure.

He took the opportunity to taste them, sucking each one into his mouth in turn and teasing them with his tongue. Ianora stirred against him, and he knew she was awake now.

"Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, raining kisses down her neck. "Did you sleep well?"

"Oh yes," she breathed, arching into his touch. "It was the best sleep I've had in years."

"I'm glad," he said, genuinely meaning it. He didn't want to just be a body to her—he wanted to be everything.

He kissed her deeply then, their tongues entwining as they explored each other's mouths. He could feel her arousal building already, and he grinned against her lips.

"I think someone's eager for round two," he teased, trailing his hand down between her legs.

Ianora made a sound of agreement and spread her legs wider for him, gasping as he slipped two fingers inside her wet heat.

"God, you're so tight," he swore, thrusting his fingers in and out of her quickly now. He added a third finger, pushing himself further into her until she was crying out for more and clawing at his back.

Castor removed his fingers then and replaced them with his cock, sinking into her deep and fast. He pounded into her hard, their bodies slapping together in a sweaty tangle of sheets and limbs.

Ianora came first this time, screaming his name and digging her nails into his back as she clenched around him. Her eyes rolled back in a hearty moan. Castor joined her, grunting as he came, spilling himself into her again.

When he could think straight again, he gave her a naughty grin before continuing to claim her lips in a deep kiss. "Now that's how you start the day off right," he murmured against her mouth.

Ianora could only nod in agreement, and her eyes fluttered shut as if all she wanted now was to curl up in Castor's arms and fall asleep again.

He wedged himself down against her back to wrap his arms around her while resting on his side. "Not so fast; we have a busy day ahead of us."

"Do we? I'm voting for the plan of sleeping again and waking up to continue where we left off once I regain my strength."

"We will have many more nights like this in the future if you wish it." He sighed, tangling his fingers in her hair, and stroking the strands. "Can you only imagine all the nights like this we could have shared had you not left me all those years ago?"

Ianora went rigid beside him, and he sensed that she was now wide awake. "Excuse me?"

"I mean," he stammered, realizing that he had said too much. "I mean, I'm just saying that it's a shame we didn't have all those nights together when we were younger. We would have been so perfect for each other. I would have given anything to be with you back then."

Ianora stared at him in disbelief, but Castor refused to look away from her piercing gaze. He could see the anger burning in her eyes, and he knew that this was not going to end well for him.

"Whydidyou leave me?" Castor said when she still stayed silent. "Why did you choose to turn away from this and what we could have had?"

"I didn'tchooseanything." She gritted her teeth in an obvious attempt not to snap at him. "You seem to forget that I'm not a king like you. I don't have the autonomy you do, I never have, or else we wouldn't be here right now!"

"What do you mean? If you didn't leave me willingly back then, say it now, and all will be forgiven. We can live a normal life, as if none of this had ever happened."

She scoffed and pulled away from him, sitting up in bed and crossing her arms. "'All will be forgiven.' You say that as though I am the only one with crimes in need of forgiveness, as though you have never done anything to harm me or drive me away."

Now Castor's brow crinkled in confusion. "Did I do something to push you away?"

"You asked me to marry you, and I—I—I wasn't ..." She closed her eyes, breathing deeply, but the second half of her explanation never came.

"You weren't what?" Castor prompted gently, hoping to coax the information out of her. "If you weren't ready, Ianora ... you could have told me.

"I wasn't ready, but that's not why ..." She shook her head and refused to look at him. "It doesn't matter, it was a long time ago."

"Ianora, please," he pleaded, "tell me what happened."

"No!" She stood up from the bed and began to pace the room, running her hands through her hair in frustration. "You want to know what happened? I'll tell you what happened. I said no when you proposed, and you couldn't handle it. You were so used to getting your way, having everyone agree with you and do as you say, that you couldn't accept that I had my own opinion. One that didn't match yours.

"So, when you kept badgering me, I left because I couldn't stand it anymore. The puppy dog eyes, the pleas, and I couldn't bring myself to go through that again, not even when—" She stopped herself abruptly and turned away from him again.
