“She’s made it clear she’s not happy with the Demons. She might be good to get on our side.”

But, hell… even thinking about using MJ for the benefit of the task force made him cranky. While she would be a good asset to have, he’d prefer not to do it behind her back. While he might be interested in screwing her, his intention wasn’t to screw her over.

It could also get messy because if he revealed who he was and why he was dancing with the Peckers and then she ran her mouth…

“You can’t tell her—”

Finn cut off Crew. “No shit.” He knew how to do his damn job.

Crew dropped his chin to his chest and stared at him for a few seconds before he ground out, “All right. Work her if you can.”

Finn had another idea that might work in both his favor and the task force’s while avoiding any kind of betrayal of MJ or her position at the club. “Could we turn her into a CI?”

Finn could see Crew’s mind working as he stared at him from the other end of the long table. “Do you trust her enough?”

“I don’t fucking know her. But my plan was to take her to dinner with the intention of getting to know her better. I could feel her out—”

“He means feel her up,” Rez huffed.

Finn ignored him and told Crew, “Give me a week or so to see what I can do to get closer to her. If I think she’d be willing to become a confidential informant, I’ll come to you first before proposing it to her. If she’s willing, it would be a huge break for us since she’s there six nights a week and, with being the club manager, she has her finger on the pulse of everything going on behind the scenes.”

“Damn,” Crew said, sounding a bit impressed with Finn’s possible plan.

“Yeah. Did I already say she hates the Demons? And working long hours is only one of the many reasons. The drugs, if she’s aware of it, might be another.”

“Seems as though you already made a connection with her.”

“Only briefly. From what I saw so far, she seems smart and savvy. She could be valuable for our investigation since she has full access to the club, everyone who works there, as well as the customers. If anyone is going to see shit being peddled there, it’ll be her.”

“Okay, take her to dinner, do your second Peckers show, and feel her out a bit more before doing anything else. We have to make sure she’s not involved in any of the dealing first before we ask for her cooperation. We don’t want her giving the Demons a heads up. Once you get a good read on her, get back to me if you think she’ll be an asset,” Crew instructed.

“You got it.”

“All right. The rest of you think about whether you want to go undercover with the Uniontown chapter. If you’re willing, I’ll need you to start growing facial hair right away. We can get you set up with a Harley and an appropriate wardrobe. Finn, Fletch, Wilder and I are out. So is Reynolds and Powers. You two know why. Torres, too.”

“Because I’m also brown,” Torres pretended to be surprised at that fact, “and the Demons only prefer bikers of the mayonnaise variety?”

“That and you’re the plant manager. I need you to keep managing the wiretaps, especially if we end up bugging the Demons’ new digs.” His gaze circled the table again. “But fuck, that disqualifies Rez, too. Even ignoring our ages, that only leaves Decker, Nox, Butler, Rodgers, Mullins, Proctor and Kruger.”

“You said someone without a family, remember? Then I’m out because of Val,” Decker said, mentioning his four-year-old niece he was raising as his own.

“Fuck me. Then that narrows it down to Nox and Kruger, unless,” Crew grinned and shrugged, “someone needs a break from their family. However, assume this UC assignment will be a long one like Fletch and Wilder going under with the Dirty Angels. Once we get you inside, we want to keep you there as long as possible.”

Finn couldn’t imagine Crew would really want Nox undercover with the Demons. Not right now with where his head was at.

“Look,” Fletch’s voice came from the speaker phone, “Nova and I have been doing weekly buys with Wolf and his crew. In the meantime, we’ll see if we can get friendlier with him, continue to build that trust and maybe score an invite to their new clubhouse. Keep in mind, every time we make a buy, we meet at a different location and he rotates through his underlings for the exchange, so we rarely deal with Wolf himself. That has me thinking they might be just as paranoid as the Russos. But… if we can get them comfortable with us enough to have us over at their church, that may open up the possibility of me or Nova planting bugs. Neither of us are experts at it but I’m sure it’s not that difficult and we can find someone who’s an expert to advise us. This way if we can’t plant someone within the Uniontown chapter, we can at least monitor their activities.”
