Tonight was another sold-out show. Every seat was full. The noise level in the club had become deafening between the Peckers’ DJ and the women making every noise known to humankind. Crumpled balls of cash also rained onto the stage.

If she owned the club, she would put the Peckers on a regular rotation since, apparently, there was plenty of interest.

She was thankful a few of her dancers were willing to work the floor tonight as servers and also to help behind the bar since her new “bartender,” a Demon prospect, was not only overwhelmed, but just about useless.

No “just about” about it. His skills were limited to using the beverage gun to fill glasses with pop or water and using a bottle opener to pop off bottle caps. When it came to the moneymakers, like the mixed drinks the ladies in the audience loved so much, he floundered. Big time.

And right now, this crowd was fresh and had fistfuls of cash so they were quite demanding when it came to getting their drink on.

She could help with the basic stuff but, like the prospect, she had zero skills in mixology. That was the reason why Taint firing her best and most experienced bartender had been a major hit for the club.

She had to remind herself over and over that the business’s profits weren’t going into her pocket, so she needed to stop stressing over it. As long as she was getting paid for her overtime tonight, that should be all that mattered.

It should be all that mattered.

But still… She hoped the club stayed afloat until she was ready to leave and was able to take the rest of the employees with her.

She sighed in frustration.

Then she sighed again in sexual frustration as Danny began removing the final pieces of the construction crew outfit they all wore for the first routine. She thumbed away the saliva caught at the corner of her lips.

Damn, that man could move his hips! And when he popped them…

Her core clenched tight.

Her reactions only reminded her that her sex life had been sorely lacking lately and getting some sexual relief was long overdue. Now she just needed to find the right man to do it with.

Maybe one with blazing red hair, expressive hazel eyes, sexy-as-hell freckles and a panty-melting smile.

One Danny “Blaze” O’Neill.

Since she had a strict “no customer rule,” it was a good thing Danny wasn’t a customer.

She squeezed her thighs together as he dropped to the stage in sync with the rest of the dancers. With one hand on his hip and the other holding up his weight, he smoothly rolled his body, humping the floor over and over.

Had someone screwed with the thermostat in the club? She began to sweat as she imagined herself being that floor.

Luckily, she stood as far from the stage as she could get so he wouldn’t see her drooling over him.

Sapphire sidled up to her wearing a black leather miniskirt, black thigh-high leather boots, and an overflowing black sequined bra-like top. “That idiot’s in way over his head.”

“Really? I think he’s doing great.”

Enough to make her panties wet. If she’d been wearing panties.

Sapphire snapped her fingers in front of Mel’s face and clicked her tongue. “Not him, girl. The idiot behind the bar… Spot.”

Mel reluctantly yanked her attention away from Danny and her brow furrowed. “Spot?”

Sapphire flipped a hand over her left shoulder toward the bar. “Spot. Fido. Whatever his stupid nickname is.”

Mel bit back her laugh. “Mutt.”

Sapphire rolled her bright blue eyes. “Mutt. He’s useless no matter what his name is.”

“You know it’s out of my hands.”

Phire squeezed Mel’s bicep. “I know. It’s not your fault. It’s those assholes. I’m not sure how much more I can take, MJ.”

“I get it. I’m at my limit, too, but we just need to hang on a little longer.”

“How much longer?”

“I don’t have nearly the amount of money needed to start a club, Phire, even if I manage to get a business loan. You know that. If I did, I would’ve left when Laura did.”

“If those assholes replace my hostess spot with a prospect, I may be forced back on stage.”

“Same. And I thought those days were over.” Wearing three-inch stilettos almost every night was bad enough but dancing in six-inch platforms? Mel groaned and dread filled her chest at that possibility.

“The tips were great, but…”

“You know how to charm the men, so you still get tipped well as a hostess,” Mel finished for her.

“Yes. And the best part is I don’t have to work as hard.”

“Or get naked.” Mel sighed. “I’m sorry. I know you’re staying for me.”

“And I know you’re staying for the girls,” Sapphire countered.

“I’ll try to talk to Taint again.”

Her long, dark brown hair swept across her shoulders when the club’s hostess shook her head. “He doesn’t give a shit. You’ll be wasting your breath.”
