He was surprised any of them showed their faces tonight. Especially after the discussion with Crew about some of them coming into the club as regular customers. He wasn’t sure how smart it was to create a tie between “Blaze” and Crew, Rez and Decker.

With a quick glance over at the bar, he noticed the prospect had already split, leaving Mel to clean up after him.

Fucking dick.

The prospects had no motivation to do their jobs, or do them well, since they couldn’t be fired. That could and probably did put Mel in a bind and more stress on her shoulders as manager.

Other than Mutt, Finn hadn’t seen Saint or any other Demons tonight. It was like those motherfuckers had left Mel to fend for herself. Besides the young prospect working the bar, she had to pull in Sapphire and some of her dancers to help out.

She had a lot of fucking patience to deal with the Demons and how they were running the club. A lot more patience than Finn would be able to muster.

Tonight his patience was lacking for another reason…

“I hate you motherfuckers,” was the first thing out of his mouth when he stopped at their table.

Laughter burst from Crew. “How can you hate us when we came to support you?”

Finn snorted and shook his head. “Is that what you’re calling it? Support? How the fuck did you get in here?”

Decker couldn’t wipe the huge fucking smile off his face. Finn was willing to help. “We bought tickets, genius. How else?”

He inhaled deeply in an attempt to cool his annoyance.

Still chuckling, Crew said, “You were the one who suggested we come in as regular customers. So, here we are.”

Here they were. “Not tonight, you asshole. When the women are on stage and when more Demons are in the house.”

“Yeah well… Since you said your performance wasn’t being recorded, we decided to come in and witness your skills for ourselves.”

Thank fuck they didn’t allow phones past the lobby.

“Don’t you think you three showing up here is a bit obvious?”

Decker shrugged, wearing a shit-eating grin. “Men don’t come to these things?”

“Maybe men like Cross,” Finn answered. “Are the three of you sharing a closet? Do you need help coming out of it?”

“Did the fact that this club was a sea of horny women go over your red head? After you Peckers spin their dials all the way to ten, you leave those women hanging. If more men were smart, they’d buy tickets, too. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel,” Decker said.

“Then, why are you still sitting here with these two dicks?” Finn asked him.

“We’re working,” Rez said.

“Yeah, right. Working on my last fucking nerve. You assholes need to go. MJ needs to close up.”

All three rose to their feet and carefully extricated themselves from the tight back corner.

When Crew came around the table, he leaned into Finn and murmured, “You talk to her yet?”

Finn kept his own voice down, too. “No, told her I need to talk to her after I’m through dealing with you dicks.”

“Was Saint here tonight? I didn’t see him.”

Finn’s eyebrows rose. “Do you even know what he looks like?”

“I pinned a few of his mugshots up on our board at The Plant. I also have them on my phone to verify it’s him, just in case he was here tonight.”

“I can verify him the next time I’m at The Plant since you don’t have your phone on you.” Finn grinned.

“Or you could walk out to the lobby, since that’s where my phone is being held hostage.”

“I could, but you guys can see yourself out. I need to go talk to Mel. She’s probably waiting and wants to get the fuck out of here since it’s supposed to be her night off.”

Crew didn’t seem to be in any rush to leave. “I guess the Demons don’t give a shit about wearing their colors here. The guy manning the bar was the only Demon present from what I could see. Did you see any in the back?”

“No. The bartender’s a prospect named Mutt. However, since this isn’t their normal clientele tonight, I didn’t see him doing any deals. I’m not sure if he would be the one to do so, anyway.”

“Are you saying you were actually watching for any suspicious activity? From where we sat, it looked like you were too busy paying attention to someone else who doesn’t wear a cut. Though, I have no fucking complaints about what she was wearing.”

Finn ignored his dig. “Do you have info on Mutt, yet?”

Crew shook his head. “Not yet. I’ll get a file started, but I’ll need a picture if you can snag one.”

“I’ll see what I can do. If Mel agrees with this arrangement, I’ll get her approval to bring in a phone to take pics. I’ll assure her that I won’t take any of the girls or any customers, the whole reason for that rule.” Finn blew out a breath. “At least there’s one bright spot with you assholes showing up tonight. You can see firsthand that me dancing here isn’t going to give us anything to work with. I think we’d see more sitting in the actual seats during normal business hours when more Demons are around.”
