She laughed, shaking her head. “We’re not alone.”

I continued heading in her direction, easing the glass onto one of the tables, swirling it back and forth. “Do you honestly think that anyone is paying attention to what we’re doing?”

“Absolutely. I think they’re glued to the windows, trying to figure out who that girl is and why such a wealthy, powerful dictator is with her.”

“They would be fired for being so egregious.”

“Mmm… If you don’t kill them, you fire them. I’m certain you put the fear of God into every man and woman.”

“Including you.” I removed my shoes, sitting in one of the chairs near her, even rolling up both pants legs.

Jade tilted her head, eyeing me carefully. “I was terrified of you before.”

“Does that mean you aren’t now?”

“You exude danger and control, but there’s something hiding beneath the surface that I find interesting.”

“Fascinating. I guess that’s a step up from your previous thoughts.”

“Oh, they remain locked in place. But you’re multilayered. I’m just uncertain whether you have the ability to be anything but what you purport yourself to be.”

“Purport. Another fascinating word.”

“I have several I can use.” I hadn’t noticed how she wrinkled her nose when she talked.

“You ignored my command.” The thought of taking her in the hot tub forced my cock to stiffen, my balls tightening.

She furrowed her brow, returning her attention to the water.

I leaned forward, issuing a single growl. “I suggest you remember that you are required to obey me at all times.”

As she stiffened, I sensed I’d lost what little ground I’d gained with her. That didn’t change the fact she belonged to me. Until she accepted the single fact, allowing her to feel more than limited freedom wasn’t in my best interest. Or hers. There would be a number of enemies who would love to get their hands on Jade, using her against me.

Taking her from me.

I took a deep breath, my heart thudding. I would rip the clothes from her body if necessary. Fortunately, it wasn’t. She stood only seconds later, darting a look over her shoulder before unzipping her dress. As soon as she wiggled, gravity started to take it to the floor. I’d never had a woman be so embarrassed around me. Most of the women I’d been with flaunted their far too thin figures and re-sculpted breasts, enjoying swishing their bottled blonde hair across my chest.

Not Jade.

She was all woman with her hourglass figure and voluptuous curves. There was nothing fake about her, including her natural beauty that the disguise she’d worn hadn’t been able to hide.

When she stood in only panties, she gave me a playful look, the first she’d done, backing away as if I had plans on ripping them off. All I could do was smile, something I did more around her than anyone else.

Then she wasted no time climbing in, backing away as she swirled her arms in the water. Her gaze was pensive, uncertain what to expect from me.

Right on time, one of Philip’s helpers arrived with a bottle of open Chianti, taking the liberty of pouring two glasses. I didn’t take my eyes off her, enjoying her attempts at covering her nakedness. She truly didn’t understand that no one I hired dared cross me by interfering with my activities. They were paid well because of their lack of attention. After he left, I eased onto the deck, placing my feet in the water. Then I yanked my phone from my pocket, sliding it out of harm’s way.

“Aren’t you going to worry I’ll call for help?”

“You could, but I doubt they’ll find us.”

“It might be worth the try.” She gave me a wry smile, before turning in a full circle. “This is very nice.”

“Most people would say incredible.”

“I already told you that I’m not most people.”

Whew. She had a way of keeping me on my toes. I liked that about her, perhaps entirely too much.
