“Hm. You may be right.”

“I am. But for now, can we not talk about your parents? Bringing this up has put the crease in your forehead. And I’m going a little soft. Let’s get back to worshiping me. Come on.” I playfully slapped the side of her thigh. She snickered and moved, pleasing me once again.

I slapped her other thigh. “Ride me deep and fast, Mia. Such a good girl, always doing what you’re told. Let’s make a deal.”

Her eyes refocused on mine. She panted. “What deal?”

“Yeah. The deal is, when we’re in bed, you always do what you’re told by me, got it? But out there, it’s okay to set boundaries with your family.”

A warm glow replaced the doubts in her eyes when I grabbed her hips, planted my heels, and fucked up into her. “Play with your clit for me.”

Her moans returned when she found the perfect point of pleasurable sensations, pinching at her nipples, rubbing her clit, and my cock within her.

I bucked faster to the sound of our skin on skin contact slapping. And when she came hard and fast, I exploded with her name on my lips. “Mia!” We rocked each other’s worlds and released it all together.

In a heap on top of me, her breathing synced with mine to a slower pace. I shifted her off of me and got a wet towel from the bathroom. Only I didn’t expect Barbie to come home, unlocking the front door just as I ducked back into Mia’s bedroom.

Quietly, I cleaned us both, then got under the covers with her. I held her close all night, my heart filled with this thing happening between us. But I needed to be patient. I tried to relax and saved worries about us and our secret relationship for tomorrow.

MIA

“Thanks for coming with me to my parents’ Sunday dinner.” Sitting next to Teddy in his car on the way, this felt comfortable. Seeing him there in the driver’s seat like he belonged there as my partner, as my person, meant everything.

Teddy reached over the console of his car, resting his hand on my thigh. I covered it with mine. His hand was so large it wrapped around to the inside, and if he adjusted it in the slightest, his fingers would touch my sensitive spots. I marveled at how he’d become my universe.

“How could I say no to your Mama’s cooking? Homemade fajitas and fresh tortillas?” He turned his head briefly and licked his lips. “Mm.”

We pulled up outside the motel. Teddy parked the car while I took a moment of silence, sending up a prayer before the chaos we faced inside. I closed my eyes and rested my head against the headrest.

I heard his side car door open and close. Then my side opened, yet I still didn’t move.

“Dulce rosa, it’s going to be okay. Remember, I’ve already met your parents and spent quite a bit of time with them when we were younger.” When I opened my eyes, he was kneeling down to be at eye level with me.

He leaned in and gave me a sweet kiss on the lips, encouraging enough to exit the car so we could go inside.

My parents lived behind the roadside motel they had rebuilt. Through the front door was the living room. Past that, on the left, was a hallway leading to bedrooms and a bathroom. But to the right was the heart of the home. The large kitchen with a prepping island and a family table big enough to seat at least ten people was Mama’s domain.

We entered the kitchen and everyone welcomed us loudly and gave us hugs, telling Teddy over and over how they couldn’t believe he’d grown up so much.

“Come in. Come in.” Mama shooed us further into their home, ready for us to take a seat and start eating.

“Theodore, would you like a cerveza?” Papa offered a bottle of beer.

“Sure, that would be great. Thanks.”

The kitchen had always been the place we all gathered almost every day of our growing-up years, two to three times a day for meals. The walls of the room harbored many deep conversations and much laughter from happy times.

“Hey, don’t start eating without me,” Diego announced as he rushed in and gave Mama and me quick hugs and shook Papa and Teddy’s hands.

“No, mijo, you missed nothing. You’re just in time. Do you want a beer too?” Papa asked.

“Sure, toss me one.” Papa pulled out three long neck bottles, and the men sat spread out around the wooden table that was covered in a bright multi-colored tablecloth. Of course, I sat next to Teddy, and he immediately put his arm over the back of my chair.

“Theodore, I think you could probably clear up a little debate we have in this house,” my father started off, and everyone else in the room suddenly quieted.

“Here we go.” Diego leaned back in his chair, took a pull from his drink as he rolled his eyes and didn’t stop until they landed on me. I just chuckled, knowing right where this conversation headed.
