Page 337 of Tease Me

I’d never pulled myself out of a female faster. I shoved my rock-hard cock inside my jeans. It was a spear to my heart to be called a sperm donor.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

The shit I took was what was wrong with me.

My throat was dry, and my son’s name got stuck there as he stepped towards us. Each footfall of his sneakers sounded like a bomb detonating, dismantling nature in its wake. Mia had the decency to throw her clothes back on before Ares and I got nose-to-nose.

God, the boy had grown up. At six-foot-three, he wasn’t only literally looking down on his three inches shorter old man, but being just nineteen years old, he was also more of a man than I’d ever been.

His threatening silver eyes had perfected the most ominous hostility, and I’d never feared a person more than him.

“Didn’t I tell you to pack your stuff and be gone before I came back?” Ares warned, addressing Mia, but not diverging from my eyes.

My boy’s aura was scary sometimes. Almost as if a devilish halo hovered around his head. It was obviously a trait from his mother who didn’t like having me around either. A trait that both Mia and I identified as dangerous.

Mia scrambled her backpack on the breakfast chair and got out before I could tell Ares how sorry I was. That five-letter word would never be enough. Not in any lifetime should a dad fuck his son’s girlfriend, let alone get caught in the act.

So, my trembling hand went into my back pocket but came out empty. The rolled-up pages had fallen out. Another detail I’d rather not draw attention to. Cradling the contract I’d signed off with Priscilla, my dead brother’s widow and boss of The Snake Zoo, I unfolded it, trembling and woozy.

Lacking the controlled coordination of my hands, I pushed the paper into Ares’ stomach and nearly stumbled into him. I tried to regain stable mobility over my body but to no avail. I unsteadily rocked on the heels of my feet.

“I went to your aunt. It’s yours.”

He took one look at the front page. The title and the signatures made obvious what it was about.

“Takeover of The Snake Zoo.”

He took his time. I wished he didn’t because one look at the requirements was enough to know I’d messed it up big time. The worst part of it was that this piece of paper was my last chance to mend what was broken. Bound by blood hadn’t been the case between us for a long time.

I was unfortunate to capture the moment he read the most important requirement. His shoulders sagged, and the paper wrinkled in his balled-up fists.

“Cary, Cary, Cary,” Ares uttered when he ever so slowly anchored his eyes on mine again. I knew the next line was going to shred me. “You’re a poor excuse for a dad. And if you ever, ever set foot in this house again, I’ll make sure you wish I’d never been born.”

If rehab had been playing on my mind lately, this was the ultimate straw. It took losing my son to recognize I needed the help.

I needed to glue myself back together. Make him happy again.

“WhenI come back, you’ll be proud of me. Of us.”

Ares didn’t say anything.

Good.

My son’s last words were the incentive I needed to harvest the pleasures of life again.

“I promise,” I said before I left his house with a broken soul but a hopeful, determined heart.

What the hell?

“Jesus!” I squeaked, pulling my knees to my chest and covering myself up as best as I could. “Get out!”

My stepbrother stalked further into the bathroom, flicking on the lights at the vanity and disrupting my beautiful view overlooking the backyard through the massive, tinted window.
