“We’re gonna have to practice this, too,” she whispered. Charlie pressed his face close to kiss her cheek.
“You mean how to recover from the cockblock?”
His quiet words made Tatum snort out loud.
“Bryony,” Adele said from where she stood in the doorway. “What if you and me went to lunch?”
“That sounds like fun!” Charlie nodded.
Tatum swatted him again.
“Can you grab my purse from the table?”
Bryony hurried to get Adele’s purse and then raced by her to go back outside.
“You two be careful.” Adele shot them a frown. “I want a big Irish wedding before that bunch of kids comes along.”
Tatum looked at Charlie in a panic as Adele left them alone.
“Did she hear us?”
“Do you care?” he asked with a small smile. He linked their fingers and tugged on her hand so she would follow him. “Let’s go make some noise.”
