Stop the embarrassment.

“Shit, Shane,” I begin. “I just thought I felt something. And you said you had a crush on me, and I just…”

He cuts me off. “No, Jenna. I think you misunderstood. I meant thatyoushouldn’t have been the one to do that. I should have.”

Before I can process another thought, he takes his hand and lays it on my cheek. His fingers tangle in my hair as he pulls me toward him. This time, it doesn’t take long for the butterflies in my stomach to take flight.

His lips are soft and tender yet firm and commanding. His tongue runs across the seam of my mouth, seeking access, and I waste no time in granting it, and the tip of his tongue teases mine.

He moves his other hand to mimic the first, holding my face while I melt into a puddle. My hands fist in the bottom of his t-shirt, trying to pull him closer to me.

His tongue delves deeper, exploring my mouth and claiming it as his own. And with the way the man kisses, I have no problem with him planting his metaphorical flag on it.

Because damn…he’s an expert.

When he tugs lightly on my hair, I let out a soft moan into his kiss.

That makes him pull away and look at me. I wonder if I’ve done something wrong, but the way he’s looking at me tells me the opposite.

In a deep growl, he says, “If you keep moaning like that, I know it’s going to be hard as hell to stop myself from going any further.”

The tip of my tongue runs along my bottom lip. “What if I don’t want you to stop yourself?”

He looks at me and gives me a crooked grin. “You’re a whole heap of trouble, aren’t you, Sunshine?”

I return his smile. “You have no idea.”

I barely get out the words before he kisses me again. We stay there, making out like a couple of hormonal teenagers for who knows how long.

When we finally do break apart, he whispers, “Wrap your arms around my neck.”

I do as he says, and he slips his own arms underneath me, scooping me up. I’m not a tiny woman, but Shane carries me as though I weigh nothing. I don’t think I’ve ever dated a guy who could lift me—or one who would even try, for that matter. Usually, I have bigger muscles than them.

He carries me straight into the bedroom and gently lays me on the bed. Crawling over me, he’s careful not to hit my cast as he positions himself between my legs.

Propped up on his arms, he leans down to kiss me again. My arms shake around his neck, holding him in place while I get lost in the moment. The man’s kiss makes my head feel all fuzzy.

It doesn’t take long for his lips to move from mine and start working their way down my body. He kisses my neck and runs his tongue along my collarbone.

I’m wearing a t-shirt, making it difficult to get to my breasts, but he keeps heading south until his face is between my thighs.

I sit up and look at him. “You know I have a cast, right?”

He chuckles. “Yeah, it’s kind of hard to miss.”

“That doesn’t turn you off?”

“Not at all. Like I told you the other day, Sunshine, any man who lets a little cast stop him from pleasing his woman isn’t a man worth having.”

He grabs the waistband of my shorts and starts to drag them down my legs, but I stop him again. “Uhm…I should warn you. Because I’ve been hurt, I haven’t exactly been keeping up on the maintenance…down there.” I point to my crotch.

He smiles again. “Jenna, I don’t mind walking through the jungle to get to the promise land.”

That gets a small laugh out of me.

He cocks his head and says, “Now, are you done giving me reasons why I shouldn’t taste this sweet pussy?”

Oh dear lord, I love a man with a dirty mouth. If I wasn’t wet before, I sure the fuck am now.
