She begins to go through the different channels, trying to find something she likes. Her face scrunches up, and she bites her fingernails, which already look like they are down to nubs.

“Oh, Titanic is on. Surely, you’ve seen this one,” she says.

“Nope.”

Her head snaps toward me, and her mouth drops open. “Excuse me? You haven’t seen the incomparable Leo DiCaprio in Titanic? Have you been living under a rock?”

“I’ve been living in Grady. Basically the same thing.”

“We have to watch it!” She exclaims.

Two minutes later, she has the movie turned on, and we are sitting on the couch. My arm rests comfortably on the back of it while she tucks herself into my side. I can smell the fruity scent of her curly hair, and I wonder what it would feel like wrapped around my fist while she goes down on me.

I try to tamper down my naughty thoughts, but honestly, the movie is off to a relatively slow start. Plus, I mean, I already know how it ends. The big ship sinks, right? Isn’t that just sort of common knowledge?

Twenty minutes into the movie, and I’m at least a little interested now. Andi hasn’t said anything in a while, and I wonder if she is one of those who hates talking during movies. My question is quickly answered when I feel her softly snoring against me.

How in the hell is she asleep? The movie hasn’t even been on for that long, and she’s the one who picked it. She went on and on about how I wasn’t really living until I’ve seen Titanic.

Looking around, I try to find the remote, but I realize it’s on the coffee table, and if I reach to get it, I risk waking her up. And as much as I can’t believe she fell asleep, she looks pretty darn cute.

So, I settle in for the long haul. I’m pretty sure this movie is like three hours, and judging by how I felt about the first twenty minutes, it seems like it’s going to be a long-ass three hours.

“Jonas?” I hear a sleepy voice say next to me. I open my eyes to see Andi still lying on my chest but beginning to stir. “Aw, the movie’s over?”

I chuckled. “Hey, you fell asleep a few minutes in, and I just followed suit.”

“I guess I should have warned you that I have a horrible habit of falling asleep during movies. I love them, but sleep just calls to me.” She smiles.

I glance at the clock on the wall, and it’s well into the evening. Apparently, we slept way past the end of the movie. “Still want to go out and look at the ranch?” I ask.

“Of course!” Her stomach grumbles against me. “But maybe I need to eat first.”

“Me too,” I say, standing up. I grab her hand and pull her up too and lead her into the kitchen. “What are you hungry for?”

“Whatever is quick and easy.”

“I think I have a frozen pizza if you want?”

She grins. “Perfect.”

As I am getting the pizza ready to go in the oven, I turn to her, “Okay, I have to ask the most important question of all. I mean, this question can make or break a relationship.”

Worry lines cross her face. “Okay?”

“Pineapple on pizza…yes or no?”

Her loud laugh fills the entire room. “Oh man, what a big decision! As much as I hate to admit it, I do occasionally enjoy some pineapple on a pizza.”

I groan. “Oh no! Now, I just don’t think there’s any way we can make this work.”

“That’s where you draw your line, huh? Pineapple on pizza?” She giggles.

“Oh yeah.” I give her a wink.

“I guess we should just call a spade a spade then and walk away.” The smile she gives me lights up the room, and I make a mental note to make her smile as much as I can.
