“Make him give up on the will.”

“No, no…you said if he dies,” he said.

“Yeah, but you’ll be old by then,” I added.

He didn’t say anything but a smile slowly formed on his face.

“Oh no, you wouldn’t dare,” I warned. I dropped the tea. “That would be going too far.”

“I don’t know what you’re thinking, Hunter.” He shrugged. “My brother would be going for the meeting that would signal the start of the reform of our father’s legacy. It would be a shame if he were involved in anaccident, wouldn’t it?”

“I won’t let you…” I said.

“I don’t think you would,” he said. “I know some things about you, Hunter. Some things are not meant for the public to see or know.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“I feel the name Sandra rings a bell?” He tilted.

“You didn’t…” I looked away.

“To think this card would come in handy at this time,” he said, and I could feel the smile in his voice. “You will act like you heard nothing and will await further instructions.”

He had me cornered.

“Get me Nick’s driver,” he instructed.

I did as I was told and called Derrick over.

“Good day, sir,” Derrick greeted. “You asked for me?”

“Ah, Derrick, you’re looking even more lively than usual.” Blake smiled. “Any secrets?”

“Well, my wife just had a kid,” he replied, smiling. “They’ll be back home tomorrow.”

“Oh, that’s awesome, Papa Derrick,” Blake praised. “So you’ll be taking tomorrow off?”

“Well, Thomas was supposed to handle tomorrow, but he isn’t around, so I’ll be taking the President to his meeting,” Derrick replied.

“That’s too bad,” Blake said. “Tomorrow’s very important. So I guess that Nick can drive himself.”

“I’ll feel uneasy if the president drives himself to such an important meeting.” He chuckled softly.

“Well, I wanted to see you because I was curious about your new vibe and all,” Blake said. “But now I feel bad that you won’t be able to arrive and leave on time to see your wife and daughter.”

“How did you know the kid was a girl?”

“A hunch, I’m really good at mind games,” Blake chuckled. “Tell you what, there’s a faster route to the meeting venue. The meeting starts with Nick’s arrival, right?”

“So I’ve been told,” Derrick replied.

“Alright. You follow the route, and you’ll get there faster,” Blake advised. “You’ll leave early too.”

“That’s amazing. Thank you so much, sir,” Derrick said with a smile. “I’m sure we’ll get there on time.”

“Alright, have a safe trip then,” Blake said. “Extend my greetings to your lovely wife and daughter tomorrow.”

Derrick thanked him again and left.
