“Text me when you get home.” He ducks down into my open car door.

“Okay.”

“I’m gonna watch you go.” He winks at me and presses his hand to the front of his jeans. “I need a minute.”

Laughter bubbles past my lips. “Sorry, not sorry.”

His smile widens and he closes my door. I slip on my seat belt and reverse out of my parking spot. I watch him in my mirror, pleased that I gave him a kiss he won’t soon forget.

Or you just gave him a hard-on, then sent him into a building full of beautiful, flexible, naked women for the rest of the night.

CHAPTERTHIRTY-EIGHT

Dex

This isthe second time Emily’s left here that I wanted to ditch everything and chase her home.

What the fuck is happening to me?

I wait until her car leaves the parking lot, then head inside, her sweet minty taste still lingering on my lips.

Willow waves to me from the bar.

I stop. “What’s up?”

“This came for you earlier.” She hands over a cream-colored letter-sized envelope with a return address for what looks like a law firm.

“For fuck’s sake, what now?” I rip open the envelope and scan the letter.

Well, hell, the guys I roughed up in the VIP room made good on their promise to sue us.Fan-fucking-tastic.Can’t wait to tell Rock that one.

Willow leans over the bar to get my attention. “I’m not sure if Emily mentioned it, but Serenity was a real bitch to her earlier.”

Tension gathers in my shoulders. Just what I don’t need. Serenity’s another one of Loco’s girls. If I fire her, he’s going to annoy the shit out of me about it. “How so?”

“Exactly what you’d expect from these catty little bitches who want to sink their claws in you.” She curls her fingers into a tight “C” shape and swipes it through the air. “Emily seemed startled at first but she handled it okay.”

“And what didyoudo while Emily ‘handled’ it?” I ask with a pointed stare. Emily shouldn’t have had to deal with any bullshit. I asked Willow to look out for her.

She blinks rapidly. “I told Serenity to knock it off.”

I grunt in acknowledgment.

“When’d you start seeing Emily, anyway?” she asks with more judgment in her tone than I care for. “You’ve never mentioned her.”

Willow and I talk—about friendly, work-related stuff. I don’t get into personal details with her…or anyone, really. “Am I supposed to advise you when I’m seeing someone?”

“What? No.” She shrugs. “I just thought it was kind of shitty that she ambushed you like that. Sneaking in here and all.”

I frown and step closer to the bar, not liking the tone or the words coming out of Willow’s mouth. “How, exactly, did shesneakin the front door?”

“Well, I—”

“What goes on between my old lady and me isn’t your concern, Willow.” She’s been around the MC long enough to know better. “Remember that.”

“Okay.” Her voice quivers. “I’m sorry.”

Shit. She better not have thrown attitude at Emily. I loved having her visit me tonight. And I want her to start socializing with the MC, not be afraid to visit the clubhouse.
