“Ryan.”

“The guy from the bowling alley? But didn’t you already go pretty deep in his mind? And how would he get a piece of your dad’s car?”

“I did. Sort of. I didn’t really have to dig too deep to embarrass him, so who knows? A secret like being my avenging stalker angel thing is probably buried well into the depths of someone’s mind. Especially because they know who I am and what I can do. I’ve even seen the guy talk straight to me in a vision because he knew I’d be watching later on.” I rake my hands through my hair before taking a deep drink of my coffee. I know it’s a flimsy option at best. But it’s all I can come up with. “As for how he got a piece of the car? I don’t fucking know. But I imagine if someone were determined enough, they’d find a way.”

“Okay, so Ryan and Alan. Who else?” Nic takes my word for it and my chest swells with his faith in me.

“Well…there’s one more person we haven’t thought about until now. It’s a shot in the dark, but we might as well clear his name, ya know?” I start doubting myself. It makes sense logically, but then again…who knows?

“Then let’s clear him. Whoever he is.” Ezra joins in the conversation, surprising me. Usually, he’s content to just let us talk it out and then he follows along with whatever we decide. Maybe he’s opening up a bit more. He also brings me a plate of food, handing me a fork with a lingering touch to my skin. “An omelet–precut for you–and cantaloupe.”

Ouch! My fucking heart. It practically dove straight out of my chest, did a flip, and then clawed its way back in. To say it’s a foreign feeling is an understatement.

“Thank you, Brick!” I could just sigh like one of those love stricken princesses in the animated movies. Like damn. Could he be any sweeter?

“Anything for you.” He presses another kiss to my temple before walking back around the island.

Apparently, yes. Yes, he could.

“Okay, now that you’re done falling in love with Grayson all over again, mind telling us who this guy is?” Nic tries not to be jealous, but he fails big time, his aura practically twisting itself into knots with the effort. I pick my plate up and move to Kai’s right, hip checking him to move out of the way.

“Rude! You could just say excuse me!” He slaps my ass as he gets up and switches places with me. I place my plate on the counter before sliding my stool closer to Nic.

He needs my presence right now. Even if he won’t say so.

“You could just stop stealing my seat, then I wouldn’t have to strong arm you to get it back!” I stick my tongue out at him and settle into my seat, stabbing a piece of food and shoving it in my mouth. Yum. Bacon, cheese, sweet peppers, and more; all together in one magnificent bite.

I snuggle into Nic’s side and he wraps an arm around me, his aura settling into a lazy flow of contentment. Much better.

“As I was saying.” I reach for my coffee, blowing a kiss to Kai as he slides it into my palm. “One person we haven’t brought up, but makes sense, is the guy who killed my dad.”

The room goes deadly silent, even Gizmo and Snitch, who were chowing down on a plate of food on one side of the massive island.

“It makes sense, right?” I press, taking another bite and swallowing quickly. “If anyone would be so…psychotically swayed by that car wreck and become attached to keeping me safe, it could be him. If his guilt was that strong, maybe something inside of him snapped?”

I start eating again as the guys stay silent, their thoughts rolling over my words.

“That’s actually kind of brilliant, Izabella.” Nic’s warm chest rumbles against my arm, his Spanish accent mingling with the admiration in his tone to create an intoxicating drug that I could easily become addicted to.

“It happens every once in a while.” I shrug, but he easily pulls me from my stool and spins me on his lap until my legs are snaked around him with my core directly over his hardened cock.

“No. Don’t do that.” He chastises as he very subtly presses me harder against him, pulling heat through my veins as he rubs my clit just right. Did I forget that I wasn’t wearing underwear beneath Ezra’s massive nightgown-sized t-shirt? Yes. Am I happy that I’m not? Hell yes. Only a thin scrap of expensive boxer brief material stands between me and his devilishly addictive pleasure stick.

Okay, that was an unsexy thought. Moving on!

“Don’t do what?”

“You’re so much more than you give yourself credit for,mi vida. You need to start seeing it.” He punctuates his words with a jerk of his hips and I grab onto his hair for dear life, my legs trembling with the start of an orgasm.

Goddamn! That was quick.

“You’re sexy. You’re smart. You’re funny.” A roll of his hips follows each statement, sparking another jolt of addictive electricity through me, and I can’t possibly hold back the moans from leaving my lips. “You’reeverything!”

I shout out as my release rockets through me, lighting up my nerve endings and sending stars through the darkness of my world. Wave after wave of pleasure washes over me, throwing me into a freefall through the abyss, the ability to breathe abandoning me completely.

I come down softly, gently even, until awareness slowly returns.

“Well, there are worse ways to get me to listen, I suppose.” I grin into Nic’s chest when my head hangs forward to his shoulder. He cradles me to him, his arms caging me in and making me feel like the most satisfied and comfiest prisoner in the world.
