He shook his head. “No. I think we’re going to make that the overall theme. Wild and Wicked Week.”

“Oh, hell yeah,” she breathed. “The whole week.”

And just like that…he was rock hard again.

Elio stretched out on his back on the bearskin rug, naked as the day he was born, staring at the ceiling, more relaxed than he’d ever been in his life. Gianna, also nude, was lying next to him but in the opposite direction, her knees by his shoulders, her head next to his thighs.

The entire day played over in his head. When Gianna made a plan, she fucking made a plan.

After their sexy shower—where they’d taken turns scrubbing each other—and breakfast, he’d lifted her up onto the kitchen table, eating her for dessert before they used condom number two.

And while he hadn’t wanted to leave the warmth of the cabin, he’d suggested they shovel more snow because it was either that or remain trapped in the cabin until first thaw. Which didn’t sound as bad as he might have expected.

The snow had stopped coming down, but the wind had blown hard enough throughout the night to cover the paths they’d dug out yesterday with deep drifts. They’d spent a good three hours redoing a lot of what they’d done the day before.

When Gianna declared her arms “officially Jell-O,” they’d returned to the cabin for hot cocoa and some downtime, working on the puzzle.

Puzzle time ended when Gianna had dropped to her knees, crawled around the coffee table, reached into his jeans, pulled out his very interested, very erect cock, and took him into her mouth.

She’d intended to give him a blow job, but Elio had recalled her comment about her past attempts at sixty-nine being “awkward.” He’d decided to show her how that position was done. He’d stripped off the rest of his clothing, then hers, before pushing her to her back. She took his dick back into her mouth, unaware of his plans until he shifted his body the opposite direction. Elio had fucked her with his tongue and teeth, driving her to her orgasm, slowly, with lots of teasing intermingled with rough touches. Throughout it all, she gave him the blow job of the century. It was so good, he feared he’d climax before her. He hadn’t, but it had been a close call.

After they’d both come, they had fallen to the floor, in these positions, and neither of them had moved or spoken since.

“You still with me?” he asked at last, curious if she’d fallen asleep.

“Yeah,” she said softly.

“Still think sixty-nine is awkward?” He reached out and linked his fingers with her, overwhelmed with the need to touch her.

She laughed in reply. “Not even a little bit. I must admit, there’s something to be said for having sex with an experienced lover. Sam and I learned about sex with each other, both of us virgins. I’m starting to understand…”

Her words drifted away, and he realized that he hadn’t been the only one lost in thought as they’d lain there. Elio sat up, then used his grip on her hand to pull her up as well.

“You understand what?” he pressed.

“Maybe Sam realized there was something missing in our relationship. Something we wouldn’t ever find together.”

“Are you trying to make excuses for that asshole cheating on you?” Elio’s temper flared at the idea of her defending Sam for anything.

“Jesus Christ, no. That’s not what I meant. I was just lying here thinking how young we were when we first fell in love, then we hung on to it because it was safe and easy. We never had to risk being alone or lonely because we had each other. What if Sam figured out that wasn’t enough?”

Elio shook his head. “You’re giving him too much credit, Gee. Guys don’t think that fucking hard. Trust me, Sam wasn’t suffering from any deep introspection over your relationship. Twenty bucks says Emma walked by, he flirted, she flirted back, he got flattered and hard, and then…he made a bad fucking decision.”

“It was a bad decision,” she agreed. “Cheating is a shitty way to go about breaking things off, but what if he knew our relationship wasn’t working, and he was hoping to find something…someone…bet—?”

“Don’t say better,” he interjected, certain that was where her thoughts were headed. “Or I’ll get very pissed off.”

She gave him a guilty smile. “Someone else,” she amended.

He cupped her cheek affectionately, hating the sadness he saw lingering in her eyes. “The reason he slept with someone else doesn’t matter. Unless…does it matter to you? Do you need to assign some sort of reason to this? Some explanation?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe it would be easier if I could understand why he would throw away what we had.”

“All you need to understand is that he lost you, Freckles. Trust me when I say it was the worst decision of his life, and he’s going to figure that out somewhere down the line.”

Gianna looked doubtful, and it bothered Elio. Because he wasn’t sure her thoughts were taking her down a smart path.
